Britain's Andy Murray says he is fit and raring to go as he targets a maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open.
Murray struggled in the heat in his last tournament in Cincinnati, losing to Mardy Fish in the quarter-finals.
"I feel good," Murray told BBC 5 live. "I've had a good few weeks so in terms of match fitness I feel good."
Murray will not play his opening match in New York against Lukas Lacko until Tuesday but five-time champion Roger Federer will be in action on Monday.
Number one seed Rafael Nadal and number three seed Novak Djokovic will, like Murray, play their opening matches on Tuesday.

Murray, the world number four, was a losing finalist at Flushing Meadows in 2008..

He enters the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year in good form having defended his Masters title in Toronto earlier this month, beating Nadal and Federer in consecutive matches.
"It definitely helped, it was good for the confidence," said the 23-year-old Scot.

The number two seed will play Argentine Brian Dabul in the second of two evening matches in the Arthur Ashe Stadium, following Venus Williams against Italian Roberta Vinci which starts at 1900 local time (0000 BST on Tuesday).

Five-time champion Roger Federer got his US Open campaign off to a smooth start as he defeated Argentina's Brian Dabul in the first round.
The Swiss eased through 6-1 6-4 6-2 in the night session, with one spectacular through-the-legs winner in the third set thrilling the New York crowd
    .
Federer goes on to face Germany's Andreas Beck in the second round.
Fifth seed Robin Soderling earlier survived a huge scare to beat Austrian qualifier Andreas Haider-Maurer.
    The Swede suffered a mid-match collapse before regaining his focus to win 7-5 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 5-7 6-4.
Sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko saw off Michael Russell and 2003 champion Andy Roddick was also a comfortable winner.

Federer is in superb form against Argentina's Brian Dabul, thrilling the crowd with one spectacular through-the-legs shot in the third set
    [IMG]
Things aren't so straightforward for Gael Monfils, however, and the French 17th seed needs five sets to make it past Robert Kendrick of the United States and set up a meeting with Igor Andreev

It might as well be raining on Dinara Safina, though. A year after she arrived at Flushing Meadows as top seed, the injury-hit Russia succumbs to a 6-3 6-4 defeat by 24th seed Daniela Hantuchova and the tears begin to flow

Elsewhere, there is a surprise in the men's draw as US teenager Ryan Harrison, a qualifier, dumps out Croatia's 15th seed Ivan Ljubicic 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-3 6-4

There is another shock when seventh seed Tomas Berdych (left), is beaten 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 6-4 by France's world number 35 Michael Llodra. Berdych could have been a potential quarter-final opponent for Britain's Murray

Sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko does not have a good day at the office. The 2006 and 2007 US Open semi-finalist struggles with Richard Gasquet's serve throughout and is demolished 6-3 6-4 6-2 by the 38th-ranked Frenchman
    [IMG]
But teenager Capra, making her Grand Slam debut, shocks the world number 20 by taking the third set for a 7-5 2-6 6-3 victory, her first ever win against a top-75 player

Eyes on the prize for Robin Soderling. The booming Swedish fifth seed fires down 14 aces in a pretty straight foward win over American Taylor Dent in just 91 minutes

Caroline Wozniacki earns a whitewash victory at US Open
    [IMG]
Kumbe kupigwa kitu cheupe kwenye tennis nako ni kawaida tu...nilidhani kwenye pool table tu
Wozniacki has dropped only two games in four sets at Flushing Meadows
Bravo .....Top seed Caroline Wozniacki reinforced her Grand Slam credentials with a blistering 6-0 6-0 second-round victory on day four of the US Open.

The 20-year-old Dane needed only 47 minutes to beat Chinese Taipei's Kai-Chen Chang and set up a third-round clash against Yung-Jan Chan.
Fourth seed Jelena Jankovic came through a testing match 6-4 3-6 6-2 against Croatia's Mirjana Lucic.
Maria Sharapova beat Iveta Benesova 6-1 6-2 in the night match.
"Last year here, the position I was in, I was trying to see where my game was, so it's nice to be back on the court and not having to worry about anything other than trying to win," said the Russian.
Sharapova will next face qualifier Beatrice Capra after the 18-year-old American enjoyed a superb 7-5 2-6 6-3 victory against 18th seed Aravane Rezai.

Mum Judy and girlfriend Kim Sears take their seats on Arthur Ashe as Britain's number one Andy Murray warms up against the unheralded Jamaican Dustin Brown, although the first set is interrupted by a brief rain shower

Brown's unconventional style of play wins over the neutrals on the showpiece court, although Murray breaks his opponent's whippy serve in the 12th game to wrap up an intriguing first set

Belgium's second seed Kim Clijsters looks invincible as the defending champ beats Ivanovic 6-2 6-1. It's her 18th match she's won in a row at Flushing Meadows. Can anybody stop the Clijsters train?
One lady who could give Clijsters a run for her money is Italian sixth seed Francesca Schiavone. Her grunts are second to none but there's no questioning her form as she sweeps Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova aside 6-3 6-0

Rafael Nadal cruised past Gilles Simon with an emphatic 6-4 6-4 6-2 win to book his US Open fourth-round spot.

The top seed, yet to reach a final at Flushing Meadows, edged the first set before serving out to win in two hours.
The Spaniard, 24, will next play 23rd seed compatriot Feliciano Lopez who progressed after Sergiy Stakhovsky was forced to retire with a toe infection.

A strangely lethargic Murray takes his turn in the hands of the trainer, but it does not help re-energise his game as he continues to look badly out of sorts
    [IMG]
Wawrinka, who lost in five sets to Murray under the Centre Court roof at Wimbledon last year, takes the crowd's applause as he sees out a 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 6-3 win
    [IMG]
By contrast it is a disconsolate trudge back to the dressing room for the British number one who sees another season go by without a maiden Grand Slam win
    [IMG]
Venus Williams has reached the last eight in nine of her previous 11 appearances at Flushing Meadows and is through to the quarter-finals again after a 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 win over Shahar Peer of Israel
