allAfrica.com: Tanzania: TIC to Promote JKT Land Bank (Page 1 of 1) The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) has agreed to market and promote a land bank owned by Suma, a corporation of National Service (JKT) force.
The agreement, which will see NIC advertising the bank services to investors, was signed by TIC Executive Director, Mr Emmanuel ole Naiko and Col. Eliot Makafu who represented the Suma's director.

Speaking at the function held in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, Mr Ole Naiko said SUMA which is a commercial arm of JKT, would be used to set example for others. "This agreement with JKT is really historic; we have been struggling to establish a land bank for investment activities," Mr Ole Naiko explained.

He said under the agreement, TIC would be able to meet its goals of promoting the bank and provide splendid opportunities for investors.
"Suma is a state-owned organization and it will be used as an example for others to emulate," the TIC boss noted.

Mr Ole Naiko also called upon Tanzanians with huge land to come forward and support the land bank programme achieve its goals.
Earlier, Col. Makafu who stood in for the corporation's director, thanked the centre for the support, saying JKT had plenty of suitable land for investment activities.

According to Col. Makafu, JKT had suitable land for agricultural activities, mining, construction of hotels and beach tourism.
"This agreement with the TIC is of paramount significance to us since it will ensure investors know our land bank," he said.
He also observed that the JKT had already started to support the efforts by the government to revolutionise agriculture under the theme 'Kilimo Kwanza' or Agriculture First.

    THEN

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the Tanzania Prisons have entered into an agreement in which the former will market the latter's land to prospective investors.

The TIC will under the deal market 130,000 hectares of Prisons land. TIC executive director Emmanuel ole Naiko and Prisons principal commissioner Augustino Nanyaro signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the Tanzania Prisons have entered into an agreement in which the former will market the latter's land to prospective investors.

The TIC will under the deal market 130,000 hectares of Prisons land. TIC executive director Emmanuel ole Naiko and Prisons principal commissioner Augustino Nanyaro signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) late last week in Dar es Salaam.

We [Prisons] are confident that the land will be useful to prospective investors in agriculture and make the 'Kilimo Kwanza'(Agriculture First)' policy a reality," Mr Nanyaro noted after the MoU signing

He said the Prisons Department had plenty of arable land, which was underutilised. "The Prisons Department has over 130,000 hectares which are suitable for commercial farming and animal husbandry," he said, adding that the department wanted to play a pivotal role in a green revolution in Tanzania.
Mr ole Naiko said: "I commend the Prisons for signing the MoU with us. The 130,000 hectares will be instrumental in boosting our land bank.

"This is an important step forward towards successful implementation of 'Kilimo Kwanza'." He urged other institutions with idle land to make their properties available for investment

Jamani ehe, madini sio yetu tena, dhahabu, almasi, tanzanite, uranium, saphire, ruby etc.

( Dont mistake me for a racist)

Tuna vyuo vya kilimo vya tokea enzi za mkoloni mlingano, ukiriguru, mati ilonga , mpwapwa, tumbi just to mention a few jee products zote hizo haziwezi kulima hayo mashamba.

50 years after independence we are still looking for investors, why then did we fight for our independence if that is the position. hii mentality itatutoka lini cant we do things on our own? it seems the only thing we can do on our own is stealing EPA Funds, i can tell you in that we dont need investors, donors or expatriates.

What kind of people are we?
