Niko nasoma jarida lao(TAA)la july-december hapa,kuna engineer anayejiita Head of VIP lounge project ameweka data za kisanii gazetini, sijui hata proofreading kama inafanywa.
Anasema traffic data za abiria zimeongezeka kutoka 2,116,686 mwaka2007/08 hadi 2,054,499 mwaka 2009/10.
Sasa si usaanii huo?...hiyo ni significant downdrop ambayo alitakiwa kuifanyia utafiti na kujua sababu zake...Sanaa na teknoloji havikai zizi moja.
 
Jumapili 09/01/2011 na jumatatu 10/01/2011 nimeshuhudia matukio mawili ya kufanana .

Katika siku hizo mbili kuna wasafiri (Watanzania) waliokuwa wakirudi makazini baada ya likizo yao hapa Tanzania. Mmoja wao (mwanamke) alikuwa harassed mpaka kuwa strip checked na wafanyakazi wa Swissport kisa alikataa kutoa $100 kwa kisingizio cha kuwa over weight. Hawa jamaa walimfuata na mwambia amezidisha mzigo, kwa akambiwa panda juu kwenye boarding lounge amkabidhi dada moja hizo hela. Alipokataa wali strip search. Kesho yake kuna dada mwingine naye aliambiwa hivyo na yeye akaambiwa toa $150. Akawaambia hana na kama mzigo umezidi wamrudishie awape wasindikizaje wake.
Kama kuna mtu yeyote mwenye similar experiences aweke hapa ilituweze kuzifikisha kwa wa husika.

Thome, eTN | Feb 07, 2011 (eTN) - The US$5+ million maintenance hangar, built by Precision Air and due to be ready at the latest by March of this year, will most likely have to stand idle for some time longer, as the Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA), responsible for the management and infrastructure at Dar es Salaams' Julius Nyerere International Airport, has failed to make good on their commitment, if not duty, to link the new hangar with an access to the main taxiway.
Precision Air over the weekend made their frustration known when conducting a guided tour for the Minister of Transport of the new facility, prompting the minister to shake his head in disbelief, according to an eye witness, before promising some immediate follow up.
Said the same source to this correspondent: "Just imagine, Precision is now the main Tanzanian airline, invests over US$5 million in a maintenance facility, which is supposed to create high value jobs for Tanzanians and keep foreign exchange in the country by doing heavy maintenance at home instead of flying their aircraft abroad, and the airport authority is sleeping and not linking the new building with the rest of the airport to allow planes to be taxied or towed there. At times I think this company is being systematically sabotaged by envious and backward forces who do not understand the nature of aviation in today's economy."
Another regular source from the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority would only confirm that they were made aware of the problem but was unable to give a time frame when the hanger would be connected with a taxiway so that it could commence maintenance work, as the oversight was with TAA and not Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
Only recently was it reported here that French aircraft company ATR had opted to establish a manufacturer-supported maintenance base in Southern Africa, in spite of having many of their aircraft fly in Eastern Africa. There is, of course, now speculation if the current development had anything to do with their decision to "go South rather than East" with their AMO facility.
Should indeed there be such a link between the two issues, the loss for the Tanzanian economy would be even greater, although having the hangar completed and equipped, and NOT being able to use it for some more time, will surely cost Precision a fair penny.
Said another aviation source from Nairobi when contacted on the issue: "That is an interesting theory and worth looking into. If there is any evidence of back room dealings, and as you put it, possible sabotage of Precision, it should be fully looked into and any culprits be brought to book."
In a related article last weekend, it was reported here that a legal case for a winding up of the company was brought in the High Court in Dar es Salaam, timed precisely with the final stage of the preparation for an IPO, compelling the Dar Stock Exchange to put a preliminary halt to those plans as is apparently required under law, since any company with a pending winding up petition in court cannot "go public" with their shares.

vyoo kunuka ama kuwa vichafu I don't care. Nimekulia kwenye vyoo vya shimo, ama wakati mwingine naenda kujisaidia mtoni ama shamba. Naumia tu pale wageni hapo DIA wanavyonyenyekewa na foleni yao kwenda fasta bila bugudha wakati sisi wazawa foleni haiendi na kero na bugudha ndio usiseme. Ukija huku anaethaminiwa ni mwenyeji kwanza then mgeni sisi huko nyumbani ni kinyume.

vipi kuhusu yale ma-blower kule waiting lounge... hayawezi kwenda arrivals (iimigration) na departure bay?
unajisikiaje kuja na utetezi huu halafu unajua kabisa kule juu kuna lots of dead spacae lakini mmempa yule mhindi anauza chakula kichafu kwenye domestic departure?
ni jana tu nimepita happo for a local trip nimesikitika na hadhi ya uwanja

labda hapo ntakua too much... hivi hadhi ya mwanza na ule uwanja vinaendana?? nani alisema lazima mjenge nyinyi kwa pesa za serikali tu??

WAATHIRIKA WENZANGU, HESHIMA MBELE!

Ni ukweli usio pingika kwamba, uwanja wa ndege wa Dar Es Salaam unatia kinyaa. Kuanzia kwenye miundo mbinu yake hadi huduma zitolewazo kwa wasafiri wa aina zote katika uwanja ule.

Mimi binafsi ni mmoja wa wateja walioathirika na huduma mbovu kabisa ndani ya uwanja wa JKNIA. Kila mara ninapitia pale nakutana na adha na masaibu yale yale. Licha ya mara nyingi kuvinjiwa sanduku au kupasuliwa bag na kuibiwa baadhi ya vitu nilivyo safiri navyo, pia ipo tabia inayokera sana ya kuomba omba ambayo imekuwa kama hulka ya hawa wahudumu ndani ya uwanja huu.

Kwa haraka haraka ni kwamba wale ambao wanafanya kazi kwenye upakuwaji wa mizigo, faida yao ni kuvunja masanduku na kuiba vitu vya wasafiri hasa wanaoingia nyumbani Tanzania. Wale wanao kaa na kuvizia milangoni (wanuka jasho) wao hutegemea wanapokukagua kwa mikono yao (fungua sanduku), hutegemea kuomba omba baada ya kuona umebeba vitu vyako binafsi ambavyo kwake yeye vinamvutia. Utasikia, najuwa umembebea wifi/shemeji vijizawadi, nami naomba angalau hata vichupi viwili au perfume. Wakati mwingine unamsikia mtu anakwambia bila aibu ndugu yangu, najuwa umebeba vijizawadi, sina haja ya kufungua au kukagua sanduku lako, ila naomba vijizawadi kidogo.

Huko kwenye mizigo unapo safiri nje ya nchi nako ni balaa. Kuna kuombwa masalia ya dola zilizo baki ukiwa Tanzania. Na kama huna, subiri cha moto kwenye mizigo yako au kuibiwa simu/saa/wallet kwenye mkanda unapokaguliwa.

Kwenye ukaguzi wa pasi unapoingia kunakuwepo na huduma mbovu na ya ajabu hasa kwa Watanzania wanorudi nyumbani. Mtu anauliza swali wakati jibu lipo kwenye pasi ya kusafiria anayoikagua. Ilimradi atafute sababu ya kutaka upatie chochote kile. Wakati mwingine kama kuna sehemu ya kuweka sahihi unapomuomba kalamu, unaambiwa eti ulipie kwa sababu serikali haitoi vitendea kazi. Na inashangaza kuona kuna vituo zaidi ya viwili vya kupita kwa ajili ya ukaguzi wa pasi za kusafiria. Kama hawa watumishi hawana kazi za kufanya ingekuwa vyema wakapelekwa mipakani au mikoani ili kuongeza tija huko.

Ubovu wa miundo mbinu nalo ni tatizo kubwa sana. Hili kwa maoni yangu linachangiwa na kuto kujali kwa watumishi na utawala katika eneo hili. Hivi niulize, kama balbu ya umeme imeungua na hakuna anaye jali kuwepo kwa giza nako kunahitaji hadi kikao kikae na kutoa maamuzi ya kuweka balbu mpya? Uchafu wa nguo za wafanyakazi nao unahitaji wafadhili/wawekezaji? Vyooni ni hatari tupu kwani uchafu uliojaa huko ni balaa. Ni ajabu kukuta debe la maji ya kunawia chooni! Si ndiyo mwanzo wa kuambukizana maradhi? Mabuibui kila kona ya jengo na wapo watu wanalipwa mishahara kwa kazi hizi. Au haya yote yanahitaji wafadhili/wawekezaji kutoka China?

Zaidi ya yote tunashukuru kwamba jirani zetu Kenya wanajenga Uwanja mwingine wa Kimataifa pale Taveta ambapo ni kama dakika 20 hivi kufika Himo. Hii itatusaidia kuondokana na adha zote hizi, na vilio vya wasafiri katika viwanja vya ndege vya Tanzania vitakuwa vimepatiwa ufumbuzi kwa kupitia Kenya. Na kwa bahati mbaya sana wenzetu Kenya, wamekuwa wakisikia manung'uniko haya kila tunapopita pale Jomo Kenyatta airport na wameamua kulifanyia kazi kwa kuhakikisha kwamba wanakamata abiria wote wa Tanzania wanaosafiri kwa njia ya anga. Na kwa uhakika watafanikiwa kwani huduma wanazotoa ni za kisasa na haraka na pia ndege nying zinazopitia Kenya huwa ni za bei nafuu sana. KWA HERI JKNIA.
