    KUNA habari njema kwa wakazi wa Jiji la Dar es Salaam kuwa iwapo Serikali itakubali kutenga Sh bilioni 4.8 katika bajeti yake ijayo, mwanzoni mwa mwaka kesho, wataanza kutumia usafiri wa treni wakati wa kwenda na kurudi kazini.

    Mamlaka husika zimelithibitishia HABARILEO kuwa, iwapo Serikali itakubali kutoa kiasi hicho cha fedha, adha ya usafiri kwa baadhi ya wakazi wa Dar es Salaam itapungua kwa kuwa watu zaidi ya 600 watakuwa wanasafirishwa kwa safari moja.

    Kampuni inayomiliki Rasilimali za Reli (Rahco) tayari imeshakamilisha bajeti inayotakiwa na imewasilisha serikalini bajeti yake maalumu kwa ajili ya kufanya matengenezo ya miundombinu ya reli ili itumike kusafirisha abiria katika Jiji la Dar es Salaam.

    Mtendaji Mkuu wa Rahco, Mhandisi Benhadard Tito aliliambia gazeti hili jana kuwa, fedha walizoomba ni za kukarabati mabehewa 14, injini tatu za treni, ujenzi wa vyoo vya umma, ukarabati wa reli ikiwemo kuboresha tuta katika reli itokayo Ubungo Maziwa hadi Stesheni.

    Tito alisema, katika ujenzi huo wa miundombinu, pia watajenga vituo sita ambavyo wasafiri watavitumia kusubiria treni ambayo itakuwa inafanya safari zake kati ya Ubungo hadi Stesheni iliyoko katikati ya jiji.

    Vituo hivyo vitajengwa maeneo ya Kamata, Buguruni Mnyamani, Tabata Relini, Ami, Makuburi na Mabibo. Ujenzi huo wa vituo utajumuisha maeneo ya abiria kuketi na kuweka vikinga jua na mvua.

    Tito alifafanua kuwa, kutakuwa na treni mbili zitakazofanya safari kwa siku, moja ikitoka Stesheni kwenda Ubungo na nyingine itatoka Ubungo kwenda Stesheni.

    Alisema, kila treni itakuwa na mabehewa sita, kila moja likiwa na uwezo wa kubeba abiria 100.

    Alisema hivyo katika safari moja treni hiyo itakuwa inabeba abiria 600. Pia alisema kunahitajika mabehewa mawili ya dharura pamoja na injini moja ambayo pia itakuwepo kwa ajili ya dharura.

    “Spea zote za kufanya matengenezo haya zinatoka nje ndiyo maana tumejiwekea muda wa miezi sita kufanya ukarabati wa kila kitu na ujenzi wa miundombinu mingine,” alisema mhandisi huyo na kusisitiza kuwa uwezo wa wataalamu kufanya kazi hadi kupatikana kwa mabehewa hayo upo ili mradi fedha zipatikane.

    Alisema, mradi huo wa kusafirisha abiria kwa kutumia treni upo siku nyingi, lakini umekuwa unakwamishwa na upatikanaji wa fedha.

    “Lakini kwa kuwa safari hii Rais Kikwete amelizungumzia kwa kina suala hilo na sisi tumeona tulifanye kwa kasi ili fedha hizo zikipatikana basi usafiri huo uanze kufanya kazi,” alisema.

    Alisema, iwapo fedha hizo zitapatikana itachukua miezi sita kuyafanyia ukarabati mabehewa, injini na ujenzi wa vituo na baada ya hapo hakutakuwa na pingamizi ya kuanza kwa safari hizo. Alisema kwa kuwa wataalamu wapo, suala hilo halitakuwa na tatizo.

    Alipoulizwa iweje waangalie tu kwenye njia ya kutoka Ubungo kwenda Stesheni wakati kuna reli nyingine ya kutoka Pugu kuja Stesheni, Tito alisema, wameamua kwanza kushughulikia njia moja kutokana na uchache wa mabehewa yanayomilikiwa na Kampuni ya Reli (TRL).

    Alisema kati ya mabehewa 97 ya TRL ni mabehewa 37 tu ambayo yanafanya kazi na mengine yapo katika hali mbaya.

    “Hivyo nakuhakikishia kuwa iwapo tutaamua kuanzisha safari hizo kwa njia zote mbili, basi treni ya kwenda Bara haitakuwepo kwani mabehewa yote yatakuwa yanatumiwa na treni ya Dar es Salaam,” alisema.

    Alisisitiza kuwa, licha ya kampuni yake kusimamia miundombinu, huduma za usafiri wa treni zitasimamiwa na TRL.

    Kabla ya Shirika la Reli kubinafsishwa liliwahi kutangaza zabuni kwa wawekezaji binafsi wenye nia ya kusafirisha abiria kwa njia ya reli wajitokeze.

    Lakini iliyokuwa Tume ya Rais ya Kurekebisha Mashirika ya Umma (PSRC), ilizuia mpango huo kwa maelezo kuwa mwekezaji ambaye atakodishiwa TRC, ndiye ambaye ataruhusiwa kufanya biashara hiyo.

    Hivi karibuni, Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Miundombinu chini ya uenyekiti wa Mbunge wa Kigoma Mjini, Peter Serukamba, ilitembelea reli hiyo kuona miundombinu yake kwa nia ya kujiridhisha kwamba inaweza kuanza safari za kubeba abiria.

    The Dar metro transit train project would have been completed as we are talking had it not been for the stupidity, jealousy and ignorance of the TRC workers whose intention was to block any good moves that were put in place by the RITES management.
