Many African cities are going through serious difficulties due to a disease known as traffic jam. There are traffic jam everywhere from North to South, East to West of Africa. However, the most difficult part of the continent is in East Africa and former East African countries of Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Tanzania has been talking about fast moving project for years now but the project remains on paper while millions of Shillings are lost in terms of man / woman hour wasted on the road due to traffic jam. Dar es salaam is leading for this menace.
Kenyan have already taken steps to address the problem by constructing fly overs city targeting the most notorious junctions in Nairobi city. They are about to finish this project that started only last year. Tanzania we are talking. Uganda opened up a side way road to di congest Entebbe - Kampala road though as temporary measure, they have tried. Tanzania we are talking.
My plea to the current regime is that year 2015 is not far and the only memorable thing it can leave behind is construction of only two flyovers to start with at Tazara and Ubungo junctions. Is this not doable?
The last regime left behind a modern national stadium. We see it, we use it and we are proud of it.
