    The Department of Statistics, College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences is announcing a short course on “DATA PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS” that will be conducted on April 14 – 15, 2012. The training is similar to that conducted on March 17 – 18, 2012.

    The process of organizing and thinking about data is a key in understanding what data do and do not contain. Data processing as a crucial step for data analysis is normally ignored; people directly go to the analysis with a set of data that contain impurities (missing values, wrongly coded etc) that likely may lead to invalid results.

    Training deals with processing and analysis of raw data collected from the field, being it primary or secondary. The training enables trainees to know key issues that should be considered when plan for data processing and analysis. It provides better insight into feasibility of the analysis to be performed as well as resources required.

    Training will cover the following:
    Overview of Data; Data Management using SPSS; Data Management using CSPro; Data Quality Control; and Data Analysis.

    Intended Participants: Any interested person. Participants are highly encouraged to come with their laptops. Certificate of attendance will be awarded.

    Participation Fee: Tshs 30,000/=

    Mode of payment: All payments should be done through;
    Account Name: College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences.
    Account no: 0150221567000
    Bank: CRDB

    Venue: School of Social Sciences (Lecturer Theatre 1)

    Please confirm your participation by sending SMS or an email indicating your name using contacts below. Registration will be done on April 14 from 08:30. Come with paying slip.
