Paul Kagame

By Rick Warren

Rwanda's President, Paul Kagame, is the face of emerging African leadership. His reconciliation strategy, management model, empowerment of women in leadership and insistence on self-reliance are transforming a failed state into one with a bright future. Kagame, 51, is one of few leaders who have successfully modeled the transition from soldier to statesman. During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, the world watched in horror but did nothing. Kagame was responsible for ending the slaughter. After the genocide, the nation was in shambles. Kagame and others began the slow process of rebuilding. That process moved into hyperdrive when he was elected President in 2000. He launched a series of reforms and reconciliation strategies that have caught the attention of investors worldwide.
Kagame's leadership has a number of uncommon characteristics. One is his willingness to listen to and learn from those who oppose him. When journalist Stephen Kinzer was writing a biography of Kagame, the President gave him a list of his critics and suggested that Kinzer could discover what he was really like by interviewing them. Only a humble yet confident leader would do that. Then there is Kagame's zero tolerance for corruption. Rwanda is one of the few countries where I've never been asked for a bribe. Any government worker caught engaging in corruption is publicly exposed and dealt with. That is a model for the entire country — and the rest of the world too.

Oh.. no!!! this is not fair.. where is our beloved President..? He should be in there after kuikoa Comoro!!

Was also responsible for starting genocide!

Tutabaki huko huko ku-whine! wakati wenzatu wanasonga mbele. Mkuu we have to build the future. Yaliyopita si ndwele...hata tukilaumu sijui ukoloni..sijui vita..name them...we are still in darkness. Perhaps tunahitaji kupigana kwanza (God forbid) ndo labda wakina Rostam wanaweza kuelewa..

Ohh no..sisi tuna amani na umoja..Na mshikamano wa kitaifa..ambao warwanda hawana...

Tatizo watanzania wengi tunapiga kelele kuwa huyu jamaa aliua raia but baada ya yale mauaji jamaa kafanya mambo makubwa kuleta maendeleo kuliko hawa marais wetu kazi yao kuuza sura,KAGAME anastahili kuwepo kwenye hiyo list

killing raia is a form of influence... lakini he is one thing that we dont have in Tanzania..
SERIOUS

Msumbiji waliathirika kiuchumi[kilimo, miundombinu, elimu, nguvu kazi yenye elimu] kutokana na vita kwa kiwango kikubwa kuliko Rwanda. sasa kwanini Msumbiji hawasifiwi kwa kujikwamua anasifiwa huyu muuaji-mnyonya damu Kagame?

NB:

I think he is incapable of understanding the nature of the Human being and he lacks the intellect required to appreciate the uncertainty that the future holds and fails to make adequate plans to ensure that we are in a good position when the situation changes.. Because every after a few decades, things change.. and after a century, nations are enslaved, culture and identity is taken away by stronger forces, unless: You are that strong force or at least have the technology and economy to stand a chance.. There is not a day in his life that he has run that thought through his head. DO you know why? Because he is concerned with more trivial matters such as hot chicks, the next election, his new house, his next trip to Washington and Dubai and Geneva. That is the problem with most African leaders and people.. We are concerned with trivial issues..

OK.. You tell me, for all the money that the state has, why has it not done enough to ensure a brighter future for us by being more of a Patron to science and technology..??

What would it cost to train engineers and buy the equipment required to build an assembly plant for tractors and all related tools... To ensure that every village has at least one or two small ones.. To put more money in seed research and exploit water resources to ensure that we produce more food than anyone else in the region..? Could we really afford a 300million dollar BOT building and not afford this?

Special schools in every region to ensure that the brightest minds in the country get the best education free and scholarships in areas of interest especially engineering, theoretical physics, agricultural technology, medicine... It takes DANIDA and WB and USAID and DFID... to even bring these ideas into our thick skulls... Rais ndio kwanza ananunua motorcade.. Fool.. MPs wanataka pay rise to 12million..lol DO you see where I'm going?

I said this before and I repeat, the biggest problem in Tanzania is not corruption or Rostam, its our trivial way of thinking. We are simply either stupid and asleep or just asleep.. Sasa sijui tutaamka vipi.. Ha hawa upinzani nao its the same bull.. We need a new idea..no a new IDEAL

I beg to differ!

Siku moja historia itasahihishwa.

Hata Bernard Madoff yuko kwenye hiyo list. I mean, the list includes criminals as well.

The Time most influential person is not voted by a panel or by following a strict code of criteria. The person is chosen through votes which are open to anyone. So really it's not an honor but more of a popularity contest but you have to give it up to the guy, he was able to get the vote of some people thats why he won.
