The Seven Traits of Skillful Leadership

This article emphasizes the importance of refining your leadership traits along seven dimensions. It assumes that traits of leadership must be neither too hot or too cold, neither too strong or too weak. For example, one should learn to be:

  • Strong and not rude;
  • Kind but not weak;
  • Bold but not a bully,
  • Humble but not timid;
  • Proud but not arrogant;
  • Humorous but not silly.
A Guide to Leadership Traits

Thank you very much Saiguran for your contribution.I would also like to share with JFmembers on other fundamental qualities, specifically for what in history has been identified as good leaders.I would use the term qualities rather than traits, though they mean almost same thing.
People like Abraham Lincorn (US), Mahatma Ghandi (India), Martin Luther King jr (US), Julius Nyerere, just to mention a few, had the following qualities.
(1) Influence-Ability to influence his subordinates through persuasion to win peoples' support.Not relying on the power to use security forces.
(2) Empathy:Care about peoples needs, feelings and aspirations.
(3) Conceptual skill-(Intelligence) which enables a leader to understand the problems facing his people, and ability to propose practical solutions to deal with such problems.
(4) Ability to articulate issues:Effective oratory or communication skills to communicate with his people where a message is clearly understood to the people
That is all for today, and God bless all JF members.

A good leader is one who empowers others....and who leads by example...who puts interests others before his/her....and much more. Who in this country fits in categories mentioned above?
