LADY ELIZABETH BOWES-LYON, 1923

The future Queen Mother's marriage to the Duke of York, later King George V, was the first Royal wedding captured on film.

The bride wore a relatively simple dress in keeping with post-war austerity for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey

PRINCESS ELIZABETH, 1947

The future Queen Elizabeth II wore an ivory silk dress designed by Norman Hartnell, which included a star-pattern train that measured 13ft long

The dress was decorated with representations of flowers, leaves and wheat picked out in crystals, put together by 350 seamstresses who worked for weeks on the outfit.

PRINCESS MARGARET, 1960

The Queen's sister wore a silk organza gown by the same designer as her elder sibling for her marriage to photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones.

The couple divorced in 1978, making Margaret the first member of the Royal Family to do so since Henry VIII.

PRINCESS ANNE, 1973

The Queen's only daughter chose a Tudor-inspired dress with medieval sleeves and a high collar when she married Captain Mark Phillips.

Her shoulder fabric and neckline carried embroidered pearls. The pair split and Anne married her second husband, Vice-Admiral Timothy Laurence, in 1992.

LADY DIANA SPENCER, 1981

She wore the most talked about wedding dress ever when she married the Prince of Wales.

Designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, it was valued at £9,000. The ivory silk dress included a 25ft-train of ivory taffeta and antique lace, and was embellished with around 10,000 pearls.

SARAH FERGUSON, 1986

When the future Duchess of York walked down the aisle to marry Prince Andrew she smiled broadly in her motif-adorned Lindka Cierach dress.

The chosen decoration included an anchor and rose, a bumble bee, her personal coat of arms and even a large "A" on the bottom of her 17ft-long train

SOPHIE RHYS-JONES,1999

Carefully crafted into the train, sleeves and neck were 325,000 crystals and pearls.

CAMILLA PARKER-BOWLES, 2005

Her second outfit by Robinson Valentine was for the blessing, and included a blue silk dress and a Philip Treacy golden feathered hat.

AUTUMN KELLY, 2008

The Canadian felt comfortable in a Sassi Holford ivory duchess satin dress for her marriage to the Queen's eldest grandson Peter Phillips.

Decoration of the dress included lace bolero, a cathedral train, and a tiara loaned to her by mother-in-law Princess Anne.
