This year, the Rotary Club of Arusha, Golden Sunrise in collaboration with Chapter: 1535 -McIntosh Trail Georgia are organizing an event called the Chalk Walk event to honor great teachers of Tanzania and to appreciate their contribution to progress. The event is penciled for 30th July 2011 and the Chalk Walk distance will be 5km route. It will start at Arusha Secondary School at 9.00am through Uhuru road, Arusha Municipal road, Centro Police road, Touch Tower, Wachaga Road then back to Uhuru road ending at Arusha Secondary School grounds. We will be circulating information on the same to you continuously so that you all can be updated.
Moreover, the event is an opening to a campaign to support an educational project as a move to make teachers voices heard and deeds seen in order to create awareness among the community of their presence and importance as far as education and the teaching profession is concerned. This Year the Project is titled TO BUILD NKOANSIYO SECONDARY SCHOOL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER . We have projected to raise a total of USD 81,114.17, from this campaign. There would be various levels of sponsorship together with walkers/runners contribution.
We would be very happy with your participation in the event in big numbers including assistance for collection of funds for the project in terms of corporate sponsorship and walkers/ participants as well. There would be some international delegates from PDK International participating as well and respective committees are already in the process of getting their agreement to participate.
