TWELVE terror suspects being grilled last night are feared to have been plotting a Mumbai-style massacre targeting Christmas crowds in CARDIFF.
Five were seized in the Welsh capital - as police swooped on three each in London and Stoke-on-Trent and one in Birmingham.
Met Police assistant commissioner John Yates - Britain's most senior counter-terror cop - said: "Action was necessary to ensure public safety."

"The rumour was that terrorists had been filming bars and shopping centres to plan targets."
Nick Beckett, general manager of the huge Queens Arcade, said: "It has been very worrying. Rumours were rife Cardiff was a target."
Last night the seized suspects - all with links to Pakistan and neighbouring Bangladesh - were being grilled over a plot to ape the Mumbai massacre in India that left more than 170 people dead two years ago.
