    Tanzania Bureau of Standards

The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has said it will soon sign a contract with three international inspection agencies to inspect goods in the countries of origin before they are cleared to enter in Tanzania.

Speaking to this paper at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair on Tuesday, TBS Public Relations Officer, Roida Andusamile, said the move was part of the government’s efforts to fight against importation of substandard goods.

She said under the contract the agencies would have the powers to inspect all goods before entering the country. “Substandard goods will not be allowed to enter the country,” she said.

She however, declined to name the agencies, but said the move would bar importation of fake goods which, if not checked, would kill local industries.

"government’s efforts to fight against importation of substandard goods". kama kweli hizi ndio jitihada za serikali basi kweli serikali tunayo.

Haya ndio mambo ambayo kila siku yataendela kuturudisha nyuma.
