Mrs. Victoria Addison Taylor’s revelation about her husband’s conversion to Judaism in the Liberian Heritage of June 3, 2009 under the title CHARLES TAYLOR JOINS JUDAISM made a sensational headline in that Newspaper (browse www.heritage.com.lr) and Breaking News to the whole world. She was also interviewed by BBC World Service on the same subject. What Taylor has done is quite a familiar transformation of prisoners who are in jail and some of us are not surprised to hear this sort of 're-birth' from someone facing serious Criminal charges against Humanity at the Hague!

However, Mrs. Taylor’s statements in the exclusive interview have THREE VERY CONSPICUOUS FACTUAL MISTAKES, namely:

1. "…..her husband has not rejected Christianity, noting that he has nothing against Christianity.” Does she really know what she is talking about? At the beginning of the interview “she disclosed that her husband has been converted from Christianity to Judaism, then HOW CAN TAYLOR NOW BELONG TO BOTH RELIGIONS (contrary to her own words)??

2. Judaism is the religious culture of the Jewish People and makes up the cultural system of Jewish law, custom, and practice of the whole individual and community. Whereas in the New Testament and the Christian church, Jesus is regarded as divine, the son of God, the Messiah, but in sharp contrast, Jews believe Jesus was simply a man - period. Also, in Judaism, the Messiah or the Anointed One is the Hebrew name for the promised deliverer of humanity. Christians accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. However, the Jewish religion contends that the Messiah is yet to come and Jesus Christ was just another prophet.

3. Judaism teaches that Jesus was a Jew who was born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee, and killed in Jerusalem after he angered the Roman government as they considered the ideas he preached to be dangerous. As a result, the Romans arrested Jesus during his Passover trip to Jerusalem. Then the Romans, upon the order of the Roman procurator, executed Jesus. Judaism does not revere the Cross nor does it recognize the Resurrection episode after his death. In fact, Judaism calls Jesus an “Impostor” and was NEITHER God, nor Begotten Son of God, nor a Messiah.

Therefore, how can Charles Taylor practise Judaism (which is totally 100% anti-Christianity) and remain a true Christian at the same time??
