Does Tanzania have special unit for the protection of the President? (Presidential Protection Unit, PPU)? Or is "Usalama wa Taifa" one big PPU?

Apart from PPU duties, does 'usalama wa taifa' have anything else THEY know they are supposed to be doing?

How do we gauge SUCCESS of those non-PPU duties?

For instance, Uganda wana PPU, kazi yake kumlinda Museveni na walio karibu naye. This frees up the rest of usalama wa taifa uganda.

Do you mean that you did NOT understand my question?

Mimi naona hatuna rais, tuna rais jina, sasa inakuwa vigumu hata vitengo vingine vya rais kuwapo, maana rais mwenyewe kutwa kupunga madogoli na ngoma, misiba, kuzurura.Kuzurura kwenyewe not only hana data, anakosa hata common courtesy ya kujua kwamba kama mtu kapewa floor na moderator hutakiwi kumuingilia (angalia video ya Davos). Aibu tupu.

    Hatuna rais.

Sasa usitegemee huyu non-president akaenda kuweka mikakati ya ulinzi and all that jazz.

And don't let nobody give you that "rais anafaa ila anaangushwa na watendaji wake" crap. It is so tired.

Yes in Tanzania we do have the PPU. Majority ya Staff wa PPU are stationed at the Kijitonyama Residence. You will take note that these are not trained at Mbweni like the ussual TISS operatives but at the Special camp for commandos located in Zanzibar. I cant say more because of the requirements of the TISS Act.

    Bandugu,

    tgeofrey,

Concern here is not [only] how the president is guarded, but how the nation is made safe. For example, Tanzania presence in EAC is something that shouldn't have happened if we had "Usalama wa Taifa" whose job description is at least a little more than a "Presidential Protection Unit".

    .

P, VP, PM,
P-ZnZ na CM. Makao yao ni pale Kijitonyama.
