Black gold.

The government has said there is every sign that Tanzania will discover oil due to availability of sedimentary rocks in both the Mainland and Zanzibar.
Energy and Minerals deputy minister Adam Malima said his ministry, in collaboration with the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), was preparing a technical plan for guiding oil exploration and extraction.
His ministry had annual short and long-term training programmes which aimed at improving their technical professional competence.
He was responding to a question by Victor Mwambalaswa (Lupa, CCM), who had wanted to know the government's technical preparedness once it discovered oil.
Malima said the government had learnt that it was important to have law and directives that would guide all activities under exploration and production of oil so that the country benefited from the resource.
According to Malima, there was a need for TPDC to operate commercially participate fully in guiding and developing the oil and gas sector.
