Tanzania Tycoons List...

Binafsi nadhani Top ten ya kwetu ina mafisadi (waheshimiwa wastaafu) na familia zao at least in top 5 out of ten.

Hivi kumbe Bakhresa ana miaka 36 tu (ilikuwa 34 mwaka 2006).

Andrew John Chenge?

Andrew John Chenge is Tanzanian politician and a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Tanzania. After serving as Attorney-General, he was appointed as Minister of East African Affairs in the Cabinet named on January 4, 2006.[1] He was then appointed as Minister of Infrastructure on October 15, 2006,[2] retaining that post in the Cabinet named on February 12, 2008.[3] He resigned on 20 April 2008 after it was earlier revealed by UK's Serious Fraud Office that he holds US$ 1million (over 1 billion Tanzania shillings) in an overseas offshore account as kickbacks from a controversial military radar deal between UK's BAE Systems and Tanzania government which he partly oversaw while saving as Attorney-General.

Nazir Mustafa Karamagi?

Nazir Mustafa Karamagi (born December 13, 1953) is a Tanzanian politician and a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Tanzania, representing Bukoba Vijijini constituency.[1]

Karamagi has been a member of the National Executive Council of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) since 2002.[1] He was appointed Minister of Industry, Trade and Marketing in the Cabinet named on January 4, 2006.[2] He was then moved to the position of Minister of Energy and Minerals on October 15, 2006,[3] remaining in the latter post until he resigned on February 7, 2008 after being implicated in a scandal regarding the government's dealings with the Richmond Development Company. His resignation came shortly after Prime Minister Edward Lowassa resigned for the same reason.[4]

According to Karamagi, he took over the Ministry of Energy and Minerals six months after the government had signed its contract with Richmond, which Karamagi said was a deal made in good faith and intended to provide more energy for the country. Although he acknowledged that the government subsequently became aware of the dubious nature of the company, he said that it did not back out of the deal for fear of being taken to court by Richmond.[4]

Edward Ngoyayi Lowassa?

Edward Ngoyayi Lowassa (born 1953) is a former Prime Minister of Tanzania. He took office on December 30, 2005 and resigned on February 7, 2008.

Lowassa served as Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office during President Ali Hassan Mwinyi's second term. He unsuccessfully sought the nomination of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) as its presidential candidate in 1995 and was then a backbencher in Parliament until he was appointed Minister for State, Vice President's Office - Environment & Poverty in 1997. Following the Tanzanian general election, 2000 he was appointed Minister of Water and Livestock Development. He gained a high profile as a minister of Water and Livestock Development, but chose not to seek the CCM presidential nomination in 2005, to the surprise of many observers. The CCM chose Jakaya Kikwete as its candidate, and after Kikwete won the 2005 election he announced his nomination of Lowassa for the position of Prime Minister on December 29, 2005. Parliament overwhelmingly confirmed the nomination, with 312 votes in favor and two opposed, and Lowassa was sworn in December 30.[1]

Upon resigning, Lowassa informed the Tanzania Parliament that he had tendered his resignation to the President after being implicated in a report by a Parliamentary Committee investigating the awarding of a contract to Richmond Development Company LLC of Texas, USA for the supply of electricity to Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO). According to the report, the Prime Minister used his position to circumvent the rules and influence the bid process in favor of Richmond Development Company. Further, the committee presented findings which showed that Richmond Development was an essentially bogus 'briefcase company', which fabricated and forged documents used during the bidding process. Lowassa has an extensive background in both parliamentary issues and government affairs. Lowassa is the first Prime Minister to have been forced to resign by a fraud scandal in the history of Tanzania.

This is on small scale as well.

I hope analipa kodi au ameanza kulipa kodi. So what happens?? the poor people suffer more.

Kama kuna tajiri mwenye imani kuwa ameafanikiwa katika hali ya usafi yaani no nepotism, no tax holiday, no forgeries on tax documents, no kujuana na mbunge, no kujuana na CEOs, May he or she please stand up!

anyone? anyone?

I can dare say matajiri wengi wa bongo ni WEZI!

Kupima utajiri wa mtu inahitaji ujue all types of money the guy has focuses on the liquidity of money.
Commodity money, fait money and credit money.

I think the best way to go about it ni kupata list ya walipa kodi wakubwa [individuals] hawa ndio wakuwatambua kwa kua nchi pia inafaidika na utajiri wao.

Some businessmen don't pay the required amount of tax because THEY ARE businessmen. Where is the logic of paying the required tax knowing very well someone in the hierarchy of the government is going to have a piece of it anyway while one can ‘negotiate' with the tax office so that they both ‘profit'. As long as the money won't be used to benefit the country or the impoverished, they might as well do 'business'. Business ethics has no role in some situations.
