Tanzania to let citizens invest in East Africa’s stock markets

From your reply, are you setting a right example really!! let me put something clear here,we Kenyans dont hate Tanzanians,in fact the opposite is true, but we understand why and we cant blame you for that.It is true we need a little bit of civilized discussion here but be the first to set the example.
What we hate is the attitude you people have toward us ,it does not help anybody, what you need to accept is EAC is here to stay ,whether we like it or not,we must learn to tolerate each other but above all wor for each others good

Look at you, hwere are you heading now? Refer to my previous post to brush out your gross ignorance.

..i see nothing wrong in Tanzania's refusal to change her labor and land laws.

..i dont see how that is preventing Kenyans frm investing in Tanzania. we should all be reminded that ,Kenya's East African Breweries, Athi River Cement, etc are already in Tanzania, and are quite satisfied with the investment and business climate in Tz. Salim Bakhresa, from Tanzania, has also invested in Kenya and Uganda.

..ALL OF US IN EAST AFRICA SHOULD THINK COOPERATION, NOT EXPLOITATION.

Jokaa kuu,

Dont be surprised that most of this guys are alwys here but they are oiut of touch.Ni wavivu wa kufanya research..nwei,that's how they are!

...hivi wewe shida yako nini?seems unaandika tuu na hakuna chochote unachoelewa, hakuna sababu ya kuendelea kubembeleza watu kama nyie,EAC will move on na tayari imeanza, aborish passport na permit zote za EAC members hatutaki kusumbuliwa borders, intergrate all customs ili business zifanye mambo yao kirahisi, whats the point kwa wewe kwenda kenya/Uganda universities na kulipa fee kama international student? kuna mambo mengi sana ya maana na sijui hata kama unajua mmekalia land land land ooooh kenya wana viwanda vingi sijui,....mtakaa mstalini tuu hata kwa viboko

..hizo work permit waache zifutwe na nchi nyingine hapa Tanzania wacha ziendelee tu.

..Tanzania haijawahi kuzizuia nchi wanachama ktk kutekeleza makubaliano ambayo wanaona yatawafaidisha. hata Kenya wanaotusakama kuhusu ardhi, are dragging their feet on the issue of monetary union.

Koba,

..pili, it is not worth it kwa Tanzania kufungua mpaka wake kwa watalii waliofikia Kenya ambao wanataka kuingia Tanzania for a few hours na kurudi tena Kenya. sidhani kama kutakuwa na faidia yoyote ile significant.

..Tunachotakiwa kufanya wa-Tanzania ni kuwa aggressive zaidi kutangaza mbuga zetu za wanyama na vivutio vingine. so far nadhani tunafanya vizuri, mapato yetu ya utalii yanakaribiana kama siyo kuyazidi yale ya Kenya. we need to put in more efforts though, bcuz we can do much better that we are doing right now.

Kuhusu border restrictions wacha ziendelee tu hatuwataki wakenya they are very greedy na waharibifu wa mazingira na wabaguzi hivyo wacha tu mambo yawe hivyo hivyo.

Kuhusu stock markets kuruhusu foreigners kuinvest ni right move kwani hata marekani, UK wanafanya hivyo hivyo. Therefore kama wewe hutaki kaa huko huko kenya hujalazimishwa but haimaanishi tumewaruhusu wakenya waje kuvamia ardhi no thank u nendeni somalia na sudan.

Work permits ziendelee hawa jamaa unajua jinsi wanavyowabagua watanzania nairobi. Kama kuna anayewafahamu vizuri ni mie kama sio mkikuyu, mkalenjin, na makabila mengineyo utaendelea kufanya donkey works hata utakapoondoka wacha tu ziendelee hizo permits tena infact nipendekeze kazi zitolewe kwa priority kama waingereza wanafanya british jobs for british people. Tanzania iwe tanzanian jobs for tanzanians kama hakuna mtu aajiriwe mtu from abroad kwa muda maalum hadi atakapopatikana mtu mtanzania

....ni ngumu sana kuwa na meaningful debate when stereo types & cooked data used as facts, calling Kenyans not trustworthy or aggressive ni story za magengeni kama wewe unavyowaita wazaramo wavivu na hazita affect laws & regulations ambazo zitawekwa,FYI eco tourism kenya wako mbele kuliko sisi,na uliza anybody who works in that industry atakuambia Tanzania stand to benefit more in tourism than Kenyans kama hizo change zitawekwa.

..talking about story za magengeni ambazo hazina ukweli wowote!

Koba,

..let turn this thing around: je, kuna significant number ya watalii wanaotembelea Tanzania ambao watapenda kuvuka mpaka na kuingia Kenya kutembelea mbuga na vivutio vyao?

..how can we benefit more kama watalii wanateremka Kenya, wanatumia usafiri wa wa-Kenya, wanalala Kenya, and they only come to Tanzania for a few hours na kurudi Kenya? hebu tuletee hizo data unazosema unazo.

..kama wa-Kenya wants a piece of what is in Tanzania, basi wanakaribishwa wafungue ofisi zao Tanzania, na watangaze vivutio vya Tanzania. pia wa-register magari yao ya kusafirisha watalii huku Tanzania, na waajiri watumishi wa Kitanzania.

NB:
..you can dismiss all the points i have raised, but facts on the ground are that Tanzania has more tourist attractions than Kenya. sasa tunachopaswa kufanya ni kuwa aggressive and innovative kuvutia watalii kuja Tanzania.

WHY? kwa sababu wamegundua kwamba Kenya is offering nothing comparing to the seventh wonder of the world - Serengeti bila kusahau Ngorongoro na mt. Kilimanjaro. Hapo hujaongelea Mikumi nk.

Whats good son,
thought this article would interest you, stop talking at the top of your had without giving us facts, we are adults you know.

Here are the top 10 destination in Africa

1. KENYA

If you want to see the 'big five' in one morning, Masai Mara in Kenya is the place to be. During the dry season from July to October the wildlife spectacle is unparalleled. Nowhere else can you watch the annual migration of over a million wildebeest from a hot-air balloon. The 'Mara' is as close to "Out of Africa" as you can get.
2. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Zambia

There is nothing quite like getting a thorough soaking from the roaring, powerful Victoria Falls. The spray is so impressive from the look-out points, it feels like you are in the middle of a torrential rainstorm. The Victoria Falls lie in between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa.
The Victoria Falls are just over 1 mile wide (1.7 km) and 355 feet (108 m) high. During the wet season over 500 million liters (19 million cubic feet) of water plummets over the edge into the Zambezi River. This incredible amount of water generates a huge amount of spray which shoots 1000 feet into the sky and can be seen 30 miles away, hence the name Mosi-oa-Tunya (Smoke that thunders).

3. Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

The Pyramids of Giza, just outside Cairo in Egypt, represent one of the greatest architectural feats by man. The last surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the world's oldest tourist attractions, built more than 5000 years ago. There are in fact three main pyramids in Giza; the Great Pyramid of Khufu (or Cheops), The Pyramid of Kafhre and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaura. Each Pyramid is a tomb to a different King of Egypt.
In front of the pyramids lies the Sphinx, or Abu al-Hol in Arabic, "Father of Terror".
For information about getting to the Pyramids and what to see check out my travel guide to Cairo. For more photos see Images of Cairo

4. Djenne, Mali

Djenne (Mali), founded in 800 AD, is one of sub-Saharan Africa's oldest cities. Situated on an island in the Niger River delta, Djenne was a natural hub for traders who shuttled their goods between the Sahara desert and the forests of Guinea. Through the years Djenne also became a center of Islamic learning and its market square is still dominated by the beautiful Grand Mosque. Djenne is located a few hundred miles downstream from Timbuktu. The market in Djenne, held every Monday, is one of the most interesting and lively markets in Africa, and well worth planning your trip around.
The best time to go is at the end of the rainy season (August/September) when Djenne turns into an island.

5. Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is a highlight of any trip to Southern Africa. The natural beauty of Cape Town makes it one of the most attractive cities in the world. Cape Town boasts beautiful beaches as well as the impressive Table Mountain right in the heart of the city. The restaurants are world class, and so are the wines. Cape Town is also one of the most culturally diverse cities in Africa and has reputation for social tolerance.

6. Marrakech, Morocco

Situated at the foot of the Atlas mountains in Morocco, the imperial city of Marrakech is large, noisy, polluted and fascinating. If you enjoy a daily assault on all your senses then you'll have a lot of fun. There are so many things to see, you should spend at least 3 days in Marrakech. Stay in a Riad in the medina (old walled part of town), because this is where all the action is. The Majorelle Gardens offer a lovely respite from the bustle of the souqs and shouldn't be missed. The heart of the medina, the Djemma el Fnaa, should also be a priority for anyone who visits.

7. Omo River Region, Ethiopia

Combining white-water rafting with an unparalleled cultural adventure is my idea of a perfect holiday. The Omo River Region of Southwestern Ethiopia, is a fascinating destination. The remote location, which is barely accessible by 4 wheel-drive, has meant that traditional customs and beliefs are very much intact for the more than 50 tribes who live there. It's advisable to join a tour since it's difficult to get around on your own and it'll enhance your understanding of the different cultures you're seeing. http://goafrica.about.com/od/ethiopia/ig/Omo-River-Tribes--Ethiopia/index.htm

8. Virunga Mountains (Tracking Gorillas) , Uganda, Rwanda, DRC

With only about 700 mountain gorillas left in the world, seeing them in the wild is something only a few people will ever have the chance to experience. About 300 mountain gorillas inhabit an extinct volcanic region called the Virunga Range along the borders of Rwanda, Uganda and the DRC in East Africa. The time you are allowed to spend observing them the gorillas is limited, but I can guarantee the hour spent sitting and watching these incredible animals will be one of the best you've ever had.
More information about Gorilla Safaris in the Virunga Mountains ...

9. Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Africa is known as one of the best destinations for adventure travel and what can be more adventurous than hiking up the world's tallest free standing mountain. Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania stands at 19,340 feet (5896m) and will take you 6 days to conquer. The exciting thing about this mountain is that anyone who is fit and determined can make it up. No special climbing equipment or expertise is needed. That said, almost 75 of attempts fail because people figure it's doable in shorts, t-shirt and a couple of beers for hydration. Check out these pictures to see what the hike is like.

10. Zanzibar, Tanzania

Zanzibar is one of Africa's top destinations because of its fascinating history and its incredible beaches. Zanzibar's location in the Indian Ocean (off the coast of Tanzania) has made it a natural trading center throughout its history. Famous for its spices, Zanzibar also became an important slave trading post under its Arab rulers. The Arab influences are obvious throughout Zanzibar but especially in Stone Town one of the island's biggest attractions. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Stone Town boasts beautiful traditional houses, narrow alleyways, a Sultan's palace and many mosques.

Smatta,

..I didnt know you were "one of them."

..of course, Tanzania is not the most popular tourist destination in Africa for now, but we have a lot more to offer compared to our competitors.

..The problem is that, tourist attractions[Selous,Katavi,Gombe,Saadani,Mafia Islands,Ruaha] found in the Southern region of Tanzania are not well known to the outside world.

Unless if you had been there and spend few dollars you will know this. Same as masai Mara they do not get repeated tourists except students with cheap packages.

Those tour packages are good value for kenyans not Tanzania with the mighty Kili and Serengeti.
