kumradhi wale waliozaliwa baada ya Azimio la Arusha. Sisi wengine tulijionea vipaji ambavyo kwakweli leo hii tunajiuliza kulikoni vipaji hivi vimetoweka kwenye Riadha hapa nchini. Leo hii hatufui dafu hata kwa Wakenya? Tunashuhudia wahabeshi wakitajirika tu kwenye mbio ambazo miaka na miaka tulikuwa na washiriki mahiri kabisa.

UMISETA jamani, UMISETA!!! ...tufanye nini kuzalisha tena vipaji?

Huyu bado anashikilia Commonwealth record ya 3:33:2 aliyoivunja miaka Thelathini na sita (ndiyo 36!!!) iliyopita kule Christchurch New Zealand mwaka 1974 mbio za mita 1500!!!

Mbali na record hiyo, alivunja 1m record 1975, na alitupatia medali ya fedha kwenye 3000m steeple chase kwenye michezo ya Olympic Uursi mwaka 1980.

Alituletea medali ya fedha baada ya kuibuka kidedea kwenye mchuano wa 5000m kwenye michezo ya Olympic 1980 kule Urusi.​

Licha ya hayo, alikuwa mwakilishi wetu mzuri tu chuoni UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso) ambako February 1981, alivunja world indoor 5,000 meter record kwa kutumia muda wa 13:20.4.​

...mambo yetu ni kukurupuka tu dakika za mwisho. Commonwealth games za mwaka huu 2010 zinafanyika New Delhi India. Timu zetu za Ndondi na riadha zipo tayari?

Athletics Tanzania (AT) plans to hold a meeting soon in order to set qualifying marks for local athletes ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
The AT secretary general, Suleiman Nyambui told The Citizen yesterday that the executive committee, which met in Dar es Salaam recently had directed the technical committee to set up the standards soon.
According to Nyambui, after setting the marks, they would submit them to the Tanzania Olympics Committee (TOC) for approval.

"We want to have a big team so as to boost our chances of hauling medals, but the athletes must realise that they have their own part to play." Nyambui said.
He added: "Qualification standards must be met and no athlete will represent the country if not qualified."

Tanzania looks set to send a contingent of athletes to the Commonwealth Games that would kick-off on October 3 in New Delhi, India.

...yaani hawa kina Nyambui wana set viwango muda huu, tena kwanza wakutane kupanga...wakati michezo inaanza October 3, 2010 ??? wanajua bado miezi minne tu imebakia ya maandalizi?

Walikuwa wapi kujiandaa tangu kumalizika michezo ile ya Commonwealth 2006 kule Melbourne Australia na 2008 Olympic games Beijing China?...
yaani leo hii ndio mnapanga mikakati ya kukaa mpange viwango??? Wenzetu tayari wanajiandaa na Olympic 2014 itayofanyika Uingereza!!

Acheni hizo za "funika kombe mwanaharamu apite!"... tumewachagua nyinyi kwa kuthamini mchango wenu kwenye riadha Tanzania, mnatuangusha!!!

I agree with you totally... Ni kweli kwamba tunahitaji kufanya mambo mengi kupromote Athletes here in Tanzania... Kuna marathon's hapa Nchini lakini ukiangalia professional's are very few... Most of them are amateur's.... Na Umiseta doe's not help student's get motivated... of we had school scholarship's for sport's ingekua vizuri sana. Unakuta unampa kijana motivation ya sport's with benefits ya elimu.

...bwana wee, yaani mimi nachoka kabisa. I hope dada Shy-Rose unanisoma,...NMB mgeuze ukurasa mwingine, badala ya misaada ya madawati (hata Vodafone wanatoa), jadilianeni mfadhili pia UMISETA (kama bado ipo, maana miaka mingi sijaisikia michezo hii).

Sponsors wengine kama Zein, bro Kelvin japo wewe ni mwana mpira wa kikapu si unanisoma? Tigo, Vodacom... deals ndio hizi wajameni...Kaka Andrew Minja wa Serengeti, ulikuwa na msingi mzuri tu pale Muhimbili Primary, nawe ulikuwa mkimbiaji enzi zile au sio? Promotion wazee!

After the run, the participants receive water and energy cookies, and get to know their result. In total, there were 171 participants, 4 of them females.

The winner and 2nd and 3rd placed, along with the director of the Minnesota International Health Volunteers (on the left), and on the right the regional commissioner of Arusha and the district commissioner of Karatu. The medals had been donated by ZARA Tours and Highview Hotel.

Kebede deny Kenyans to take 2010 Virgin London Marathon crown

Nairobi — Athletics Kenya (AK) is seeking to upgrade Kenya's four major marathon races in Eldoret, Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa to the required international standards in the next two years.

At the same time, AK chairman Isaiah Kiplagat, announced that the changes would go alongside the introduction of a jackpot where athletes who win three out of the four series events will get handsome cash rewards.

Kiplagat, however, disclosed at a press conference on Tuesday that the realisation of that dream would depend on sponsorship to cater for, among other things, dope tests and time, equipment and the overall prize fund.

"We really need to think ahead and find ways of improving these races to make them real and professional. Someone could break a world record here when we don't have the right programmes in place," Kiplagat explained.

"We will be required to invest in doping and time equipment in all the four races. The jackpot, which could go as high as Sh3 million makes it quite an expensive affair." Kiplagat said that each race would require funding of Sh5 million to Sh60 million and called on the corporate world to help make the programme a success.
