    TANZANIA imepanda katika maendeleo ya binadamu na kushika nafasi ya 148 kati ya nchi 169 kwa mujibu wa Ripoti ya Maendeleo ya Binadamu iliyotolewa na Shirika la Maendeleo la Umoja wa Mataifa (UNDP).

    Pia ripoti hiyo imebaini kuwa kutokana na maendeleo ya binadamu yaliyoonekana katika nchi nyingine duniani, umri wa kuishi umepanda kutoka miaka 59 na kufikia 70 na kipato cha kila mtu kwa mwaka kimeongezeka na kufikia dola za Marekani 10,000.

    Akiwasilisha maelezo mafupi ya ripoti hiyo ya 20 tangu kuanza kutolewa kwake, Dar es Salaam jana, Mwakilishi Mkazi wa Umoja wa Mataifa, Alberic Kacou, alisema pamoja na hayo, Tanzania pia kama zilivyo nchi nyingine zinazoendelea, imeonekana kufanya vizuri katika sekta za elimu na afya.

    "Ripoti hii imetumia vigezo vitatu ambavyo ni farihisi iliyoboreshwa ya maendeleo ya dunia, matabaka ya kijinsia na kigezo cha umasikini ambapo pia iliangalia kigezo cha usawa katika elimu, afya na kipato na katika eneo hilo, Tanzania ina asilimia 28 ambayo ni kiwango kikubwa kuliko wastani wa dunia ambao ni asilimia 22," alisema Kacou.

    Alisema kwa upande wa umasikini, ripoti hiyo imetumia vigezo 10 vinavyohusiana na afya, elimu na huduma muhimu za jamii na katika eneo hilo, Tanzania ni moja kati ya nchi chache ambazo kiwango cha umasikini wa wananchi wake ni wa chini kwa asilimia 65 kuliko umasikini wa kipato ambao ni asilimia 89.

    "Hii inamaanisha kuwa sera za elimu na afya kwa namna moja zimepandisha kiwango cha umasikini wa kipato katika nchi hii," alisema huku akiongeza kuwa utofauti wa mgawanyo wa huduma za jamii kati ya mjini na vijijini ni tatizo kubwa katika suala zima la maendeleo ya binadamu nchini.

    Alisema wananchi wa vijijini kushindwa kupata huduma muhimu ni kikwazo kwa Tanzania kupanda zaidi katika maendeleo ya binadamu; tatizo kubwa likiwa katika afya hasa vifo vya watoto wakati wa uzazi na iwapo litapewa kipaumbele, huenda Tanzania itazidi kupanda zaidi katika maendeleo ya binadamu.

    Naye Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Fedha, Ramadhani Khijjah, alisema pamoja na kwamba Tanzania imepanda kwa takribani nafasi 21 ikilinganishwa na miaka ya 1980 ambayo ilikuwa ikishika asilimia chini ya 10, bado jitihada zinahitajika ili kupanda zaidi katika upande wa maendeleo ya binadamu.

    "Wenzetu ambao wameshika nafasi za juu si kwamba wao wana fedha nyingi na uwezo mkubwa kutushinda, bali walijipanga na kujikita katika vipaumbele, na sisi Tanzania tutafanya hivyo kwa kuanzia na kuwekeza kwenye maeneo yaliyo nyuma na kujikita kwenye ajira," alisema Khijjah.

    Alisema serikali mpya inayotarajiwa kuundwa hivi karibuni itahakikisha inatumia utajiri wa rasilimali zilizopo kwa manufaa ya Watanzania wote kwa kutumia mipango endelevu kama vile Mkakati wa Kukuza Uchumi na Kupunguza Umasikini (MKUKUTA) na Ilani ya Uchaguzi ya CCM.

    umasikini wa kipato unasemekana kuwa asilimia 89. Vile vile wakazi wa vijijini ambao ndio karibu asilimia 80 ya wananchi wote wanaishi mbali na huduma muhimu kama matibabu, jambo linalosababisha kutokea kwa vifo vingi hasa wakati wa kujifungua kwa wakina mama. Katika hali hii maendeleo yako wapi! Mwalimu Nyerere aliwahi kusema ya kwamba mtu akikwambia habari za uongo, ambazo anajua fika kuwa nawewe unajua kuwa habari hizo ni za uongo, lakini ukaonekana kukubaliana naye anakuona mpumbafu.
