    The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Second Central Transport Corridor Project (CTCP2) and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this credit to eligible payments under the Contract for Individual Consultant to Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS).

    TAN ROADS is therefore looking for a dynamic, motivated, creative and open minded Individual Consultant to support management of the procurement of Works, Services and Goods and enhance the procurement capacity within TANROADS staff.


    The Procurement Consultant will undertake the needed procurement activities for implementation of projects under TANROADS. The specialist will also train TANROADS's Counterparts in procurement methods in line with the World Bank's Procurement Guidelines and the international procurement practices.

    The successful candidate will report to the Director of Procurement and Contracts and Work closely with fellow Procurement staff and other Directorates staff to accomplish specific procuremel)t tasks.


    The desired attributes for the position are; Graduate in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Economics or Finance; or other similar degree from a recognized University. A post graduate degree in Management (Project or Contract) will be an added advantage. At least 6 years of experience in Procurement in an international, national, public, or private organization, preferably in a developing country setting, Demonstrated skills in computer application and use of software programs for procurement database and monitoring, experience in procurement of Donor funded projects, fully computer literate, very good written and spoken English.
