I'm sorry (actually i'm not) to say this; what is going on right now is pure madness of sort. Hivi hakuna mtu mwenye hekima ndani ya serikali na chama tawala? Yaani, kila mtu anajitokea na kusema lake, na wenyewe wanapingana na kwa kufanya hivyo wanaonesha how weak President Kikwete actually is. It seems to me that he has lost comman of respect or even loyalty within the party and the government.

It as if he has become a ceremonial president - the one who likes ceremonies! Yaani, sijui nani atamuambia ukweli lakini whatever is going on is not good for the country and for his own legacy. There are a number of things that he personally need to take care of:

a. The Arusha Killings of Chadema supporters; he need to show that he actually care and is willing to do everything not to that such an incident doesn't occur again. The first step, meet Chadema leaders for a candid discussion of the political situation in the country. Hali iliyopo sasa haiondoki kwa mikwara na kudharau!

b. He need to stop the payment to Dowans. He is one of the very few people who knows for a fact why Dowans was formed and how he would benefit (kwa binafsi au familia) when the payments are made. He need to show that he in fact care about this. So far yupo yupo tu.

c. Stop the madness ya majibizano ya kisasa kati ya viongozi wa chama chake, viongozi wa dini, na watendaji wa serikali. Something is definitely very wrong.

Kikwete toka uchaguzi amewashawishi wananchi kuwa he is the president na akatangaza waziwazi Bungeni kuwa "waenda lakini watarudi" kwani yeye ndiyo Rais. Well, Kuwa Rais siyo jina au tunu ya sifa bali ni kazi ya kikatiba. Sasa basi awe Rais na aoneshe kwanini alizinguka mikoa yote hiyo kuomba nafasi ya pili ya kutawala taifa (sijui kama alitaka kuongoza au kutawala).
Kama ni vigumu for him to give the country courageous leadership at this time basi alitendee taifa hisani ili angalau tuanze na Bilal tuone naye atafanyaje. Act or resign. Kwa sababu mengine hata hayaingii kichwani.

Mzee Mwanakijiji, unajua mimi naamini kwamba hili ombwe la uongozi alilo-create Kikwete lina maana sana kwa mustakabali wa nchi. Hili ndilo litakalolazimisha na kuharakisha mabadiliko makubwa nchini. Hapa ni historia tu inajirudia. If you know anything about ancient history you remember how great world empires fell. One reason, yes and major reason indeed, was that the leadership got so much corrupted and power intoxicated that they abdicated their fiduciary responsibilities and engaged themselves in stupid, immoral practices until they were assassinated and their empires fell into some more sober leaders.

Kikwete is just unbelievably weak and incompetent that he does not even know what to do now. He seems to be in a serious dilemma about whether to act in accordance with is natural personality bent and grab what he wants for himself, as this is his time to gather all he can, or to show some leadership in these matters. One thing is clear, he is confused and does not know what to do. He is also not confident in any move he wants to take. He has made so many mistakes now and he is facing internal and external opposition too strong for him, that he is afraid of his own shadow now.

And do not forget that he is also left alone with no one to advice him on heavy matters. So what follows, nothin but the fall. Not only for himself, but also for his party. The damage, I mean moral damage that he has suffered is just too big for him to recover from. What is needed now is for his political rivals to pull up the socks and prepare to take over. Yeye yupo pale kwa nguvu ya mafisadi ambao walifanya jitihada zote kuhakikisha mtu wao anakalia hicho kiti cha enzi ili waitafune nchi hii wapendavyo. Walitumia vyombo vya habari hata kufikia kiwango cha kununua milki yake, wakachonga mabango ya kila aina na kusanifu slogan za kulainisha watu ('maisha bora kwa kila mtanzania', 'wanawake watawezeshwa', n.k) ili kibaraka wao achukue madaraka. It is like Kikwete is in a trance and his ability to function voluntarily appears lost or could it be we are missing something here ? My God, the word voluntarily suddenly starts me thinking, is Kikwete really in control ? Are there some external forces pulling the strings ? Every evidence points to the fact that there is very little chance of him completing his second term in office, so what prompted him to seek a second term in the first place ? If I remember well he collapsed at the podium on the very first day of the campaign and this I think should have been a signal for him to step back, but no way he kept going or was he ? Something was propelling him to the extent of involving his whole family and vowing to win the presidency by hook or crook. It was as if winning meant everything for him, his family (and whoever) and that losing couldnt have been tolerated, question is by whom ? Kikwete, stop putting our beloved country at ransom, resign and save our country from humiliation at the hands criminals and gold diggers.

All pointers suggest someone else other than Kikwete has taken control of this country. This is probably due to President Kikwete himself allowing his Presidency to be shrouded by several unprofessional and corrupt advisers like his family, Sheikh Yahya Hussein, Makamba and the likes.
He seems to be overridden by a bunch of boot lickers and court jesters who flock to the State House to facilitate their corrupt motives. He has rendered himself morally helpless, hopeless and hapless. It is increasingly becoming more difficult to help him because such people around him make him believe nothing has gone wrong. This is a national disaster. The worst is that he can not resign as this is against the culture of almost African leaders who likes to call themselves 'Presidents' but act as Sultans or Emperors. To wrap this up CCM has proved to be Mwalimu Nyerere's bad students as they have failed to learn any wisdom from that great son of Africa who continues to be respected worldwide even after his demise. No wonder CHADEMA has succeeded in attracting many Tanzanians and will surely continue to attract many more due to the simple fact that, to ordinary patriotic Tanzanian; CHADEMA sounds more Nyerereist than the corruption infested CCM that has practically distanced itself from the Tanzanian proletariat.
