"Precisionair Ground Handling Services Limited, a ground handling company, has since its inception on November 1 handled 16,009 passengers at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) and 4,846 at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), bringing to end the monopoly enjoyed by Swissport Company for many years according to the former’s
General Manager, Elias Moshi.
Moshi was speaking in an exclusively interview with ‘The Guardian’ at JNIA on Tuesday whereby he lamented on Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), the regulating body, for subjecting the market to many conditionalities."

  2. Civil Aviation Authority ni mojawapo ya taasisi bomba sana zinazofuata taratibu haikuogopa kusimamisha Air Tanzania wakati hawakutimiza masharti ya usalama. Uamuzi wao umezingatia mambo mengi muhimu Bravo TCAA! TCAA hawakubali hongo wanafuata uwazi, haki na ukweli JK ampe tuzo Mkuu wa Mamlaka hiyo.
“It is a proven trend worldwide for an airline to provide ground handling at its hub, not only to its fleet, but also to airlines in order for travelers to enjoy competitive service rates. Moreover, we are limited to providing ground handling even to our own partner, Kenya Airways,” said Moshi.
He said the regulator’s decision to limit the number of companies operating in any given airport was not in good taste with free market rules and tenets and in particular the common market rules."

  3. Precisionair hawana hadhi ya kutoa huduma hiyo JNIA na KIA kwani hata vifaa hawana bado wanasaidiwa na Swissport. Bila ya Swissport wasingefua dafu.

"He dismissed as unfounded the regulator’s concept that the company was inexperienced in the handling of other fleets saying “PrecisionAir is a key player in the industry for the last 16 years and have been providing training to Swissport personnel on how to handle our fleet before we were granted permission”.

"He said by handling its own fleet, the airline had broken even and was experiencing relief, saving an average of USD29,000 per month it used to pay Swissport for ground power unit when such brand new unit cost USD53,000."

"However, Moshi said that by handling its own fleet, the airline was now a step ahead,vowing to make a difference by improving customer care.
“For the few days we have been into the market, a high level of honesty has been demonstrated whereby personal effects have been recovered and surrendered by handlers,” he said."

Honestly It does not fail to amaze me as to why some of us Tanzanians are so negative when a Tanzanian Private company, any private company, shows some success!!!

Ni utamaduni wa Mtanzania? Ni jinsi tulivyolelewa nafikiri, kwamba kampuni binafsi ni wanyonyaji! Poor we!

Ukweli ni kwamba lazima tujivunie chochote cha Ki-Tanzania, be it private or public, if successful, because the effect economically is the same, provision of jobs, tax revenues etc. Our experience with public public coops, is a all misery, instead of providing the to the government coffers they go their kunyonya, kama watoto ambao hawakui - ATC, TRL, TTCL etc etc .

A simple economic lesson:
It is the private companies that will drive Tanzania forward. If the company is Tanzanian so much the better, since, in addition to giving the precious jobs and taxes to the Treasury for us to use to build public services like building roads, it is likely the profits will be re-invested locally (at home) than repatriated.

I have said it in this forum and will say again, we just do not have the necessary skills and discipline to run a public company the people of Tanzania can be proud of. Too selfish too. ATCL is a miserable reference case here.

Kenyans knew better, sold to a valuable KLM and Private sector, retaining just a few shares and, more importantly, the national character. Not that ATCL can emulate this and succeed. The Chinese? May be, but the SAA had interest in seen the demise of ATC. We need to find our the interest this time. I am that pessimistic, but GOD BLESS TANZANIA!.

But why Chinese? If Precision is being successful, could that success rub into by the way of sharing something? Are looking for something from afar, ignoring a solution nearby?

Alternatively, lets ask ourselves this - how much has ATC, or TRL, or TTCL given back to the people of Tanzania in form of taxes for all their investments provided to them over all these years? What about TBL, Serengeti, Vodacom, Zain ....? So who is more useful here! Will we be happier if Precision was not Tanzanian?

Truly, all companies must follow standing rules and regulations, whether local/foreign, public or private. But we need to be more positive and helpful. Being too negative is unhelpful, such attitudes are usually reserved for companies we want to discourage from doing business in our midst.

Mbona unajidharau mwenyewe Mtu Kwao? Wewe si Mtanzania kwa nini usijivune na utanzania wako na kujidhalilisha kama mtu ambaye hana matumaini ya kuweza? Tunaweza tachague watu waliokamilika kuendesha ATCL tuachane na ushikaji tuko nao watu bomba sana nchini angalia TCAA ilivyo bomba (hata unajua hadi leo DRTC ipo na inaendeshwa na mdada?) YES WE CAN

mbona wametoa magazetini ndugu wamerudisha lakini wanadai kurejesha nyingine 4 sasa sijui mchwawi wao kawatuma hivyo....

Hongera Precission Air. Hawa waTz wasiokuwa na chembe ya uzalendo wataendelea kudhani tu ni lazima shirika limilikiwe na Serikali. Sera ya CCM sio kujitoa katika uendeshaji wa mambo ya kibiashara?

Kama waTz wameingia ubia na shirika la Kenya ili kutoa huduma nzuri angani, naona ni vizuri tuwapongeze hasa wakikua na kuanzia huduma viwanjani.

I do not think the issue here is of patriotism..it is simple but affirmative and logic suggestion and or complaints by an aggrieved customer who has castigated all angles of the company.

I have personally witnessed and heard of several delays and cancellations of Precision Air in the last few months!

By the Precision Air is not fully Tz, it had sold shares to KQ in order to survive and expand!Thereafter and apart from buying/leasing new planes since last year and guess what,the delays are the same!

Zote bado zipo, leo hii nimekumbana na 5H-PWC, ambapo ni kati ya zile tatu mpya, tena zenye full-tv ndani!..huh!

Tatizo nini kwani kama uendeshaji wa shirika hauko damuni kama Watanzania! hapa naona maoni mimgi yamekaa kiuadui adui inaelekea watu wengi haswa wapinzani wa bishara hawapendi maendeleo ya Precisionair! Ila kwa taarifa yenu jamaa wanaanza kuruka kuelekea SA na si punde wataanza safari za Ulaya!

Siyo! Nachojua ni kwamba Kenya wana share 49 za Precision na Watanzania share 51. Mbona Kenya Airways wameuza share kwa watu binafsi na KLM?

Hiyo ndiyo biashara, if works. It never worked for ATCL, ambao nao waliuza share kwa SA. This was the real SA kwa mlango wa nyuma, kwa sababu ambazo zimeonekana. Now they are doing it again with Chinese. It will not work also, kwa sababu zile zile ambazo zimeua mashirika ya umma na TTCL yenyewe. Which is lack of ownership, by Tanzanians of things "National". UBINAFSI, UBINAFSI, UBINAFSI ... Siyo kujidharau, I am very proud. But a spade cannot be called a jembe.

Swala la maana ni kuhakikisha utaifa unabaki kwa kiasi cha kujivunia. Kenya Airways is still Kenya Airways na inauza utaifa wao. Precision is still Precision as Tanzanians control the majority shares.
