PETITION – President Jakaya Kikwete: Stop the Serengeti Sell-Off

Baada ya kusign petition nikapata huu ujumbe, wenzetu wanajipanga sana!

about 20 years ago the one whom I assume to be among the GREAT THINKERS and brave, the late Stanislaus Katabaro (may his soul rest in peace) rose to address this issue via 'Mfanyakazi' newspaper. There were very few by then who understood what he meant till recently when few Maasai families were even moved further more from Loliondo areas, their mother land.

The worst thing is that even those assassinated Mr. Katabaro are still enjoying the pensions at the costs of wananchi!!!

Mkuu Lokissa, ukiwa mkweli mno kwa bongo ni hatari!, nilipoendesha kile kipindi cha "Kiti Moto" niliyaona matokeo ya kuwa mkweli sana, ukishajua the way "system" oparates, na ukajipima na kujiona "if you can't fight them, join them"!, I've joined them and fight from within!.

Kuna wapiganaji wa aina mbili, aina ya kwanza ni wale wa kujitoa muhanga, ambao they fight to death no matter what, na wakishakufa, juu ya makaburi yao wataandikwa "mashujaa" wamelifia taifa hili!. Ni waandishi wachache sana ambao hata wanalijua lilipo kaburi la Stan Katabalo!.

Bado najiamini niko fit na nina uwezo wa kufanya kitu kwa ajili ya taifa langu, kwa sasa nimerudi nyuma kujipanga upya, na soon nita strike back with a big blow, by that time nitakuwa nimeshaacha mazingira mazuri for the six just incase itakuwa ndio final blow ya "to live and let die"!.
 
tell arab kikwete to stop war plans on malawi . He is diverting attention from his@corrupt sell of tanzania to arabs. Why sell serengeti to arabs kikwete?
 
I wonder if these folks can have can access, do peruse and come out to say something about these allegations!. Being quite it may be perceived to have accepted whatsoever allegations have been thrown unto you!

Does petition works on this side of the world to resolve such matter? I know for sure in US its works. I am not certain if we have embraced such culture yet. Or my be my clock is running slower
 
Tatizo la wanaharakati ndio hilo. They don't bother to give details but they expect you to buy in and support whatever argument they put forward. The description for this petition leaves a lot to be desired. Who is behind this deal? Which area are we talking about here (Serengeti? Hunting is not allowed in national parks)? What is the size of the area in question? Middle Eastern kings and princess? Who are these people? What is the name of a hunting company involved in the deal? Make it explicit, please. It might be doing more harm to dramatize the issue (Serengeti sell-off!) than one might expect. Why not tell something as it is? (or doing that will weaken the argument?) You think you won't get big crowd. Right? Unfortunately, a good number of people (serious people for that matter) will ask for details before reaching a decision to support the campaign and sign a petition.

At any moment, a big-game hunting corporation could sign a deal which would force up to 48,000 members of Africa’s famous Maasai tribe from their land to make way for wealthy Middle Eastern kings and princes to hunt lions and leopards. Experts say the Tanzanian President’s approval of the deal may be imminent, but if we act now, we can stop this sell-off of the Serengeti.

The last time this same corporation pushed the Maasai off their land to make way for rich hunters, people were beaten by the police, their homes were burnt to a cinder and their livestock died of starvation. But when a press controversy followed, Tanzanian President Kikwete reversed course and returned the Maasai to their land. This time, there hasn’t been a big press controversy yet, but we can change that and force Kikwete to stop the deal if we join our voices now.

If 150,000 of us sign, media outlets in Tanzania and around the world will be blitzed so President Kikwete gets the message to rethink this deadly deal. Sign the petition now and send to everyone.

Tena hata hatujui ni kina nani walioitisha hii petition, na hao wawindaji wanaowapinga ni kina nani.

Hata ramani ya eneo wanalolipigia kelele hawajatoa.

Tanzania kuna general land ambayo iko chini ya Raisi kwa niaba ya Watanzania. Na kuna village land ambayo iko chini ya serikali za vijiji.

Inawezekana ni ishu ya kuipinga, lakini taarifa zilizotolewa so far hazitoshelezi kufanya maamuzi.
