Allow me to share some intriguing issues pertaining the some mind boggling levies/taxes:-
1. The recent Fire levy of some 1,000/% on vehicles i.e saloons up to 40,000/= per year combined with road
license and;
2. Fire certificate for business: Starting at Tshs 100,000/= onwards per shop
What and why are these levies charged for??
1. Rubbish/trash Tshs 36,000 onwards per shop;
2. Rubbish/trash Tshs 12,000 onwards per house.
Damn, what are Municipal councils here for? What happens to the funds provided to them by Main Government?
The draconian business license which starts at Tshs 10,000 onwards apart from the levy of 0.1% on business turn over per annum (the Municipal councils are still fighting to secure this despite the same been scrapped off but they claim, this particular clause was not covered?)
What and why have this been re-introduced?
With this hard economical times, shops are somehow being subjected to taxes/levies of more than Tshs 300,000 to 1,000,000 onwards per annum!
Why the frustrations?How much do the Government want? Milk the cow until they bleed??
