    Salaam wanaJF!

Hawa PANAFRICAN wana supply gas TBL, SBL, Twiga Cement, YUASA, Murzah Oil, Detergents and Soap Industries, KAMAL Steel, KIOO LTD, Simba Steel, SILAFRICA LTD (mali ya Somaiya), NIDA Textile, URAFIKI Textile, TCC, Bora Industries, OK Plastics, Bakhresa Food and Processing Industries etc.

Yaani eti hata TANESCO wanaununua gesi kutoka PANAFRICAN via SONGAS!

Siku ambayo tutaingia barabarani kuiondoa CCM ndo angalau tunaweza kusahau madudu haya

Una sound kama bado katoto...umefungua tu wala huaapekenyua unaanza ubishi....Panafrican Energy ni subsidiary ya Orca Exploration...acha kukenua mimeno bure.

Orca Exploration Group Inc. is a well-financed, international public company listed on the Canadian TSX Venture Exchange.
In Tanzania, Orca operates through its subsidiary PanAfrican Energy (PAE) Tanzania Ltd. where since 2004 it has created and operated a highly successful, integrated African gas business through the operatorship of the Songo Songo gas field and the marketing and distribution of Additional Gas to the power and industrial sectors in Dar es Salaam.

The 1.5 Tcf Songo Songo field was the first, and remains the largest commercial producing gas field in Tanzania and the East African Communities, providing gas to powers stations that generate in excess of 50% of Tanzania's electricity requirements, and supplying industrial customers in Dar es Salaam.

In 2011 Orca in planning to test the low risk Songo Songo West (SSW) prospect, a major potential source of reserves upside in the Songo Songo area. If successful SSW could provide the resources to underwrite a significant expansion of the gas infrastructure and growing markets both in Tanzania and beyond.

In 2010 Orca has an aggressive expansion programme to capture multiple additional assets with a focus on oil exploration, leveraged from a strong financial base. This is intended to diversify risk and lead to a step change in company value

TANESCO can not manage gas reserves, it requires some speciality other than power generetion. Watu hata kukusanya madeni wanashindwa leo waendeshe gas field.

Not sure who are all Pan African shareholders, especially their local shareholders if any. Sababu hawa jamaa walichafua mitambo ya Songas na kusababisha mitambo kuharibika ila hautasikia Pan African wamesababisha mgao.

However the owners of Songas are Pan African, TANESCO, TDFL and TPDC. Pan African is major shareholder with 55% of Songas.

There should be transparency on companies shareholding where any government authorities are doing business on any PPP project.

Watanzania inabidi pia tuanze kuangali how can we invest in the energy sector instead of kusubiri companies like Pan African kuja na ku-control resources zetu. We can't blame them but we need to wake up now.
In the future projects, we need to engage such companies as consultants only. They will be working for us and our interests.

    Hapo kwenye RED:

    TzPride,

Take a chill pill and chill out dude.

Songas wamewapa contract Pan African to process and distribute their gas.
As I said above, sijui who are all share holders of Pan African, but for Songas, these are the share holders: >>>>> Songas Limited - Intranet <<<<<
Too see how Pan African comes into Songas read here: Songo Songo Gas-to-Electricity Project

"The main project sponsor was AES Sirroco of the USA, a large electricity company operating worldwide. The other sponsor is Pan African Energy, formerly Ocelot International, a gas development company, with operations in several African countries. Project investors are AES, Pan African Energy, TANESCO, TPDC, CDC, TDFL, EIB and World Bank, the later two through the Government of Tanzania. Project costs are estimated at US$ 350 million. The project will be implemented by SONGAS, a local joint venture company formed by Globeleq, TANESO, TPDC and CDC. Ocelot, now Pan African Energy will operate the gas field on behalf of Globeleq"

Since you know so much about Pan African, may be you can share more details but Pan African is one of Songas shareholder.

Sasa mkuu unataka kusema nini? Umeelewa theme ya thread hii? Ukweli ni kua PANAFRICAN wanavyofaidika haikupaswa iwe hivyo. Mimi nikasema TANESCO wangeweza kumanage. Hivi unafikiri kama TANESCO ingekua haingiliwi na politicians ingeshindwa kumanage gas and electricity supply? Siasa ndo linaua shirika ilo.

However back to PANAFRICAN's case, tungekua na a reliable and firm state owned gas producer and supplier, tusingewahitaji hao PANAFRICAN. Again corrupt government systemi is to be blamed in this context!

Mkuu umeongea sana lakini bila kutoa way forward. Ilo ndilo tatizo letu waTZ,tunaongea sana bila kutoa suluhisho. Au unaenjoy cake ya PANAFRICAN nini?

    Still fumbling!
Hapo hujaambua kitu dogo...yes, I know PanAfrican very well. Kwa taarifa yako hiyo project ilikuwa GAS TO POWER, na hapo GAS ni deal ya Panafrican & TPDC na POWER ni Songas to generate and sell to TANESCO. Kwa taarifa yako Songas is entitled to only 45 MMSCFD of gas na the rest ni mali ya TPDC na PanAfrican (additional gas). Panafrican has a deal with TPDC to produce, transmit and distribute natural gas. The revenues obtained are shared the two parties according the joint operation agreement.
Naisikitika unang'ang'ania issue ambayo unijua only in nutshell!
