SOON AFTER INAUGURATION OF BARACK OBAMA, MANY FAMOUS WORLD TOURIST AGENCIES AND INDIVIDUALS HAVE SHOWN THEIR INTEREST TO VISIT KENYA.

PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW AND SEE THE COUNTRY OF OBAMA'S ORIGIN.

KENYA IS LIKE IT WAS COLOURLESS BUT SOON WAS COLOURED AS BARACK OBAMA BECAME U.S PRESIDENT.

I WONDER IF THIS ADVANTAGE WILL ONLY BE FOR KENYA OR CAN EVEN TOUCH OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES LIKE MY TANZANIA.

    Senator Obama ill-informed: Kenyan government

Posted on: Thursday, 31 August 2006, 10:49 CDT
    By Tia Goldenberg

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Kenya on Thursday accused Senator Barack Obama, a rising star in America's Democratic party, of making inaccurate criticisms about corruption in the country of his father.

Obama, who is a role model to many in the east African nation, on Wednesday ended what amounted to a homecoming tour during which he declared graft a crisis crippling development and reversing Kenya's democratic gains.

Kenya routinely accuses foreign officials of spouting neo-colonial sentiments when they have criticized the corruption that has plagued the country for decades.

Obama's Kenyan roots had appeared to forestall that tactic.
"Senator Obama made extremely disturbing statements on issues which it was clear he was very poorly informed," government spokesman Alfred Mutua told reporters in Nairobi on Thursday.

Mutua, who recently launched a government public relations campaign urging people to say "I am proud to be a Kenyan" to counter negative media reports, said Obama's views on graft and tribal divisions were unwelcome.

"He chose to lecture the government and the people of Kenya on how to manage our country," Mutua said.

In his various stops around the country, Obama told both ecstatic crowds and senior politicians of the need for transparency to encourage development.

In a speech at the University for Nairobi on Monday, Obama said graft had allowed a Rwandan wanted for war crimes in that country's 1994 genocide to hide in Kenya and that police were a source of insecurity.

Corruption scandals have rocked East Africa's largest economy, spurring the resignations of three ministers, several public inquiries and constant threats by foreign donors to withhold aid.

Kenyans gave the senator a welcome fit for a rock star throughout his trip, sporting T-shirts bearing his face and cheering him in the streets.
Though not born in Kenya, many Kenyans idolize him the way the Irish in the 1960s revered former U.S. President John F. Kennedy -- as a native son who gave them hope for succeeding beyond their wildest dreams.
The senator's tour included a visit to his late father's village in western Kenya, a stroll through Kibera -- one of Africa's largest slums -- and stop at a mobile clinic to get tested for HIV/AIDS with his wife.

His trip started in South Africa, where he criticized that country's controversial AIDS policy. He arrived in Djibouti on Thursday to visit U.S. marines stationed there.

I agree alivo tumia colourless ni kosa, lakini si right kwako kujump on the band wagon hadi hata kumzidi.

On the other hand hili swala la kuwa wakenya walidai/wanadai Mt Kilimanjaro iko kwao, limeenezwa sana lakini hakuna mtu anayetoa evidence, kama iko tuonyesheni otherwise tuache propaganda.

    Smatta,

Mind your language, haupo kijiweni na wahuni kuongea utumbo.
    then toa point tuendelee kujadili.

Hiyo introvert President( afraid of EAC una uhakika??), are we
that much dumb to avoid EAC? just understand there are issues
need to be addressed first before moving on.....

Mt. Kilimanjaro sio yetu, lakini its a fact that we are reaping more benefits than you on that case. We are cashing in alot on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and most of your leaders know that.. Its a case of one hand washing the other.

That might have been the case a decade or so ago but as of now you are not reaping more benefits from Kilimanjaro. Check your so called facts.

    Wazenji mpooo?

Then you are celebrating the same money to be stolen by your leaders thrlugh corruption and embezzlement. If you are cashing a lot from from Mt. Kilimanjaro kuliko sisi mbona barabara zenu mbovu kuliko zetu ambao hatu cash alot.

Have you been to Kenya of late, ama mwadhani tukimponda kibaki amelala tu hakuna kazi inaendelea.. Roads are being built day and night my brother.. Nrb is only 4 years away from being a metropolitan, and this is serious stuff. we only look corrupt coz we have a very good media portraying the dirt in gvt, and thats what is failing on your side. Your media is muzzled and thus nothing is ever exposed.. Kenya is usually a diversion from yo political class,.. ati waangalie wakenya hawana undugu.. dont be fooled bro, just because you dont wash your linen doesn't necessarily mean that they are clean, we wash ours and most of the time in public, this doesnt mean that we are more dirty than you are, it only means that we expose ours and you keep yours hush hush. tafakari hayo babu.

    SHISHI,
