If I may callously comment with my most oft used poetic license -we are lingering in linguistics after all- please permit my hopefully informative wallow and wobble in a wallop of wordplay, not in vain vanity I assure .

The murderous mediocrity if not inexcusable idiocracy shielding solid squarely under the glaring guise of patriotic pride is not only laughably lamentable, but also blatantly blaze in a conspicuously cavalier and nauseatingly naive fashion.

Regardless of Kanumba's English fluency and proficiency , It is one thing if you are defending disputing cultural imperialism on the part of a Kanumba who demanded a Swahili-English interpreter and in the process sparked interest in Swahili - I can chance stocking sincerity and love of culture there-and quite another defending poor English just because the speaker is not from Britain or it's English-mother-tongued cultural satellites. This is essentially the same argument forwarded to excuse not only jokers of a low calbre, but even our own president.

What Bush did was mutter a few symbolic words of Swahili. This is acceptable -sometimes even expected- the world over. You cannot equate this with holding a conversation in Swahili. If one has poor English and does not demand an interpreter, this tells me that this person accept cultural imperialism in an "end justifies means" way or is not even aware of the entire concept of cultural imperialism.

Do not excuse -indeed equate- jokers who cannot get their language issues, and more than that decision making process, straightened on account of ones fighting cultural imperialism.that would be like equating supporters of The Flat Earth Society with Thomas Friedman, their platforms are not the same despite the tempting illusion.
