Kikwete leaves for Turkey, Jordan
PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete left for Turkey today, where he will be on a three-day official tour at the invitation of his counterpart Abdallah Gul.
A statement issued today by the Directorate of Presidential Communication said that President Kikwete is accompanied by the First Lady, Mama Salma and several prominent businessmen in the country.
President Kikwete is, among other things, expected to hold talks with the Turkey's Prime Minister, Mr Recep Erdogan, meet leaders of business associations and African diplomats based in Turkey.
Tanzania and Turkey are expected to sign six agreements during the tour and President Kikwete is scheduled to be honoured with Doctorate Degree from Faith College of Istanbul.
President Kikwete will on Sunday fly to Jordan for another three-day state visit at the invitation of King Abdallah II.
