Ndambisa argues that aid to Africa has caused more harm than good. War, poverty, corruption – blame it on aid, she says. At worst it ends up lining the pockets of corrupt political leaders, she says. At best case scenario, it does not do anything productive; it goes to fuel large bureaucracies that do not support entrepreneurship and that primarily choke off any private sector of development.

NB: MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF AID MONEY POUR TO AFRICA EVERY YEAR NA BADO TUNASUBIRI MATOKEO YAKE. ASANTE DADA NBAMBISA.

"more harm than good"??? she might be wrong about that...i would say the proportion of good is not what public anticipates and is low in most cases. But foreign aid 'd be a back up and is innevitable for african countries......too young to survive with our own resources. May be we should read the book and give general review...

Yes Geo, had read the book, it is a nice book and may be it good finally we heard a version of an economist from LDC's let alone she is a woman (Zambian).
Napingana naye kwa baadhi ya vitu alivo andika ila it is ok, nimekipenda.

    BTW she is hoooot, woooow!

Mwanamayo, umekisoma hicho kitabu chake kuhusu Africa, I guess not.

On addition to above, tunasahau kuwa what written is more or less of a theory au niseme falsafa ambayo kwa uzoefu wake yy (Dambisa) wa kufanya na Bretton Woods Institutions na kwenda elite (red brick) universities anaamini kuwa ni sahihi, hence, her dictum (what she suggested), is not free from constructive criticism. (simaanishi Shigongo type buks)

At least in her book she gave us the other side of Aid ambayo wengi tulikuwa hatujui. Though na mm sikubaliani naye kwa baadhi ya 'way forward' kwa LDC's to take off.
