hivi kwa nini watanzania tunawaachia mafundi watuamulie gari lipi zuri na lipi baya?kama fundi wa kijiweni kashindwa kutengeneza gari does it qualify as a bad car?

i thought reliability, fuel consumption, security, cost of ownership etc were used to justify bad cars from good ones, not failure of an untrained mechanic to fix a car he has no idea how to.

kw aupande mwingine wito kwa serikali ku-control monopoly ya Toyota,we all know they make reliable cars(of course not the ones found in Dar streets, rather EU,US etc).Lakini hii monopoly yao TZ haitusaidii sisi inatuumiza, ndio maana leo ukiachilia toyota may be Honda,na Mitsubishi kampuni nyingine hamna spareparts kabisa.kwa nini??!!TOYOTA dominated market.

we need even market, ili kuondoa huu ujinga wa kununua gari kwa sababu ni Toyota.Gari unalipenda lakini how can one be expected to drive a subaru in dar?unless anatafuta frustrations za spare na proper maintanance.

Tusiwe biased na makampuni, hardly any japanese company will produce a full line up of bad cars, usually there are many items to identify a bad' car.
even toyota have had its fair share of 'turkeys'

The D4 engine(ya Toyota Nadia etc) is one designed to be very fuel efficient and produce good performance while at the same time delivering low tail pipe emissions.

The technology is sometimes referred to as Gasoline Direct Injection or GDi (mitsubishi sasa) and works on the principal of injecting high pressure fuel direct into the combustion chamber at precise timing intervals.
Mitsubishi have this technology in many of their vehicles but it has not been without its frustrations to owners and garages. Most problems would appear to stem from rough running or surging which many believe is a result of the very lean fuel mixtures the engines run at times.
A high build up of carbon deposits inside the engine, can also be a problem according to my sources. I understand Mitsubishi NZ have tended to avoid these engines in their current model line-up.
My sources also tell me Toyota have the occasional challenge trying to get these engines to run smoothly or getting their customers to accept a surge or erratic low speed running issue is normal and acceptable.
With the Nadia being an import even the Toyota NZ technical guru's can sometimes offer minimal support.
I don't think it would ever let you down completely but it may not guarantee a memorable driving experience either.
My understanding is the later the car the better the overall performance when it comes to the GDi technology, however if you had the option some would choose to avoid it all together.

My take,3-4 years later these 1999's car will all go away just like how manual cars are shrinking!thanks to the pressure TZ government is putting on having newer cars, and of course car makers consensus to reduce emissions.
if you are buying a car spend time to research about its technology and makeup.i know this is a toughie..,but once you know what you are buying that is pretty easy.

i have read somewhere someone is advising people to buy landrover freelander, without going further to warn them to not buy a version before 2003!since they had massive faults and were subjects to frequent recalls, buyers who bought them new are trying harder to sell them.in Europe buyers get to read different sources before buying,TZ we get to ask our nearby mechanic who has never driven one,nor fix one!

my call to all Tanzanians, before buying cars lets do intensive research on them before buying since that will give us more information about the car we wish to buy,

for EU cars check this website:www.whatacar.co.uk

there they have a comprehensive database of all cars ever made and their reviews from experts as well as users.
