Round off 324 589 to the nearest thousands.
Kuna vitabu vipya vya form 1 ambavyo vimenichanganya. Wanadai kuwa,'if the digit immediately to the right of the required place value is exactly 5,the required place value increases by 1 when it is odd,but remains unchanged when it is even,and replace the digits to the right of the required place value with zeros'. Msaada tafadhali,nilikuwa nafundisha nikakwama kwa muda,kwa sababu vitabu vingine vinasema,ile namba ikishafika 5 tu,unaongeza 1 kwenye namba husika.

Aha! Kwa hiyo kumbe ipo tokea shule za msingi? Sasa mimi najiuliza,hawa watoto watakapo ulizwa swali kama hli kwenye mtihani wa nje(mf. Wa taifa) itakuwaje? Wasahishaji watatumia concept ipi?

Unachoongelea hapa ni rounding wakati kuna tie (ngoma draw), yaani namba ya kushoto imekuwa 5, kwa mfano 33,500 round to thousands.

Kuna njia nyingi za kuvunja hii draw.
Round half up -> Unaround kwenda juu (Njia ambayo ndo most common)
Round half Down -> Unaround kwenda chini

Round half to even ->(Njia iliyoandikwa kwenye kitabu chako)

Kuna njia zengine kadhaa zote ni sahihi, inategemea mmeamua kutumia standard ipi, naona kwa bongo wameamua kubadili kwenda hiyo ya half to even badala ya round half to up kama tulivyosoma sisi.

Sasa kijana hapo tatizo nini? si namba imeshaongezeka zaidi ya hiyo 4 ya maelfu, kuna 589 mbele yake na hakuna sifuri. Maelfu hapo ni kwenye hiyo 4 na si kwenye tano, kwenye tano ni mamia na yamezidi zaidi ya tano.

Kwa hiyo hapo bila mjadala unaongeza moja yaani inakuwa 325,000
