Wakuu,tafadhalini yeyote ambaye anaweza kunisaidia procedure yote ya registration ya dairy produsts kule TBS and costs.
Nimechambua laws mpaka nimechoka.
Its urgent tafadhalini!

CHECKLIST FOR A DAIRY COMPANY.

PHASE I

The way forward
• Application to Tanzania Food And Drugs Authority, where by the application should be accompanied with
o Submission of a dully signed form
o Submission of application file with all required information of the product such as
 Brand name
 Common name
 Product form(liquid, solid etc)
 Intended use
 Types of packaging material
 Packaging unit
 Shelf life
 Shelf life (after opening the container)
 Shelf life (after reconstitution where applicable)
o Payment of relevant fee as follows.
 Local facilities
• Large scale USD 150 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
• Medium scale USD 100 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
• Small scale USD 50 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
• Micro scale USD 20 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings

 Overseas facilities
• For the High risk products only is USD 3000 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
 Analysis for product charge is USD 250 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
 For product variant every other variant should be charged USD 100 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings
 For products manufactured by Micro entrepreneurs analysis per product should be USD 100 or its equivalence to Tanzania shillings

o Submission of the sample of the product

• When the application is accepted an acknowledge receipt will be issued together with the reference number for each product
• During the registration process the applicant can be asked to bring more information as required.
• After the registration process is over then the applicant will be informed and the certificate of registration will be issued.
o The certificate will be valid for five years and after expiring time the applicant has to renew the registration.

Phase 2

Applications for licenses to Tanzania Bureau of Standards,
 Every application for a license shall be made to the Director, and he may in his discretion grant or refuse any application
 Application should be made in triple forms and the forms should be accompanied by fee as prescribed bellow

o Application for license fees, non-refundable She. 1,000.00
o Preliminary inspection charges, to be lodged along with the application. It is adjusted against future dues on grant of license, but is forfeited if the application is not granted owing to default of applicant Shs. 2,000.00
o Annual license fee Shs. 2,000.00
o Fees for renewal of any one license Shs. 500.00
o Testing charges depending on the cost of testing.
o Marking fee depending on the quantum of production.
o Special inspection fees depending on the cost of such inspection.

 attached to every application a statement explaining in detail the scheme of inspection and testing which the applicant maintains or has in use or purposes to maintain or put into use for the purpose or regulating or securing the appropriate quality of the articles or process, during the manufacture of the article or the application of the process in respect of which the license is sought.
 Signature ( if it is an individual then he should sign and if it's a cooperate then it should be signed by the person who is authorize to sign on behalf of the company)
o Upon receipt by the Director, every application shall be assigned a number signifying its order to receipt, and the Bureau shall acknowledge the receipt of that application. The minister by notice may decide to call the applicant to give him any further information to clarify what stated by him earlier.
 Inspection by Bureau
 Report every inspector shall make and submit to the Director a detailed report relating to every inspection made by him
 Grant of license, where after any inquiry, the Director is satisfied that the applicant is a proper person to use a standards mark he shall grant a license to the applicant
 Application for registration of licensed manufacturers should be accompanied with
o Name and address
o Serial number of the license( if any)
o the commodity or commodities or the process or processes to which the license granted renewed or restored relates;
o the number and titles of the standard or standards to which the license relates;
o particulars of any suspension, cancellation or renewal in respect of the license;
o Any other particulars which the Director may, from time to time, direct.
o All changes in the particulars registered under paragraph (1) shall be entered in the register by the Director.
o The Director may, with the general or specific approval of the Council, cause to be rectified any clerical errors in the register or other document containing extracts from the register.

Taratibu hizi siyo mbaya.

Lakini je ni kweli zinafuatwa, hakuna under the desk issues, na je kuna taratibu gani once hizo product zikishafika dukani, tukumbuke kwamba dairy products ni sensitive products...kuna wakati unakwenda super market unakuta some of those product zimekwisha expire, na tatizo watz hatupendi kuangalia expire dates, inabidi waende zaidi ya hapo..labda nibaki ndani ya mada nisitoke nje.
 
Mkuu ni kweli kwa procedure zote hizi siyo zote zinazofuatwa mana kuna so many under the desk deals but ol in ol for as long as mtu anajua what it means to also worry about the others and making it real you will do as per the law.
Kuhusu expiry nadhani its a matter ya long lasting conservative!
