VACANCY OPPORTUNITIES
INTRODUCTION
The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a statutory Health Insurance Scheme
established so as to undertake the responsibility of ensuring medical care services to its
members.
The NHIF invites applicants from all parts of Tanzania who are suitably qualified,
dynamic and result oriented to fill the following vacancies:

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER – 1 POST
i. Scope of the position
1. The Marketing and Communication Manager is responsible for all external
communications and marketing of the Fund. The job holder will be the adviser to
the Director General on all matters pertaining to the public image of the Fund and
all issues occurring that might affect the Fund and its stature. Also to publicize
and promote Funds activities so as to win maximum confidence, thrust and
stakeholders support.
ii. Position and Relationships
• Reports to the Director General
• Liaises with Directors and Managers in all matters related to marketing and
communication functions of the Fund.

iii. Duties and Responsibilities
• Informing members and the General public regularly what is new at NHIF/CHF
and or major decisions, development made in their favor or a caution they need
to observe.
• Publicizing the scheme through print and electronic media.
• Maintenance of rapport with Editors and Journalists and all other stakeholders.
• Plan, arrange and coordinate press conference and briefing.
• Play a proactive role all times in protecting and safeguarding Funds interest.
• Provide prompt feedback or replies on issues that require clarifications from
stakeholders.
• Monitor major events and ascertain the extent to which NHIF/CHF is involved.
• Organize and coordinate special events.
• Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotion activities.
• Manage the productivity of the marketing plans.
• Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results.
• Website management (uploading).
• Attending all protocol issues including speeches, floor management and
visitations ticketing etc.
• Establishing and maintaining communications with Funds stakeholders (locally
e.g. Trade Unions etc and with international bodies).
• Plan, liaise or coordinate issues related to internal customers (in collaborations
with HR)
• Maintenance of Library.
• Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Director General.
iv. Qualification and Experience
• Postgraduate degree in Marketing Management or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum period of six (6) years of relevant work experience in a similar senior
position.
• Specialized training in Media matters will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly committed, with good track record.
• Knowledge in computer application is essential.
• Preferably not more than 45 years old

PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT OFFICER
i. Scope of the Position
Principal Procurement Officer will be responsible for assisting the Director
General in overseeing and performing all duties pertaining to procurement
matters and providing technical expert advise on such matters.
ii. Position Relationship
• Reports to the Director General.
• Supervise Procurement Officers.
• Liaises with Directors and Managers on all matters related to procurement
activities.
iii. Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages procurement that are procured directly from the suppliers.
• Prepare a procurement plan that is commensurate with the needs of the Head
Office as well as zonal offices and ensures that the plan is adhered to as much as
possible.
• Deals with tender documents and procedures for procurement that are purchased
on a regular basis.
• Organizes the management of head office stores to ensure that procurement are
handled in an efficient and effective manner.
• Assists zonal offices maintain sound procurement systems and procedures for
items that those offices handle on their own.
• Prepare periodic reports on the status of procurement in the Fund.
• Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Director General.
iv. Qualification and Experience
• Postgraduate degree in Logistics and Procurement and pocession of CSP or
equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum period of six (6) years of relevant work experience in a similar senior
position.
• Must be registered with National Board of Materials Management – NBMM (T).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly committed, with good track record.
• Knowledge in computer application is essential.
• Preferably not more than 45 years old
