    Oxfam is an International NGO working with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering in Tanzania and more than 80 other countries worldwide. In Tanzania Oxfam is working in Shinyanga, Dodoma, Morogoro, Tanga, manyara and Arusha to implement three change goals that have been identified in the country strategy for 2010/2015, namely Economic Justice - Rural Livelihoods (including smallholder, pastoralist and women's livelihoods), Gender Justice - equality for women and Social Justice centred in active citizenship and effective governance for quality essential services. Gender justice change goal aims at ending violence against women and to promote women's leadership and economic empowerment.
    We are currently looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Administration Assistant/ Receptionist to enhance the impact of our work in Tanzania.
    The role

    Reporting to Finance and Systems Officer, the person willensure that all visitors are received with courtesy in order to promote good front office image by asking all visitors about their needs and accordingly directed to relevant staff members. Ensure that incoming documents passing through reception are properly circulated, distributed or filed as appropriate. Maintain current information on the notice board and Maintain full, up to date and accessible lists of contacts. Monitor all telephone calls and verify telephone bills in line with actual calls and classify official and non-official calls. Develop and monitor a budget for telephones both mobile and landline. Assist with photocopying and supervise the proper use of the photocopier. Produce standard written communications such as letters, memos and reports. Arrange for cost effective transport and hotel bookings. Supervise and maintain good gardening and cleanness in the office. Make sure that there are enough kitchen and tea requirements.
    The person

    A candidate envisaged for this role will hold a relevant qualification and experience. Proven ability toproduce standard written communications and ability to respond to a variety of questions relating to the organisation. Work accurately with attention to details. Good interpersonal and a committed to team work, initiative and flexible. Good oral communication and listening skills. Ability to set own priorities and organise own time efficiently. Confident in using computers for emails, documents and spreadsheets.

    The role

    Reporting to Finance and Systems Officer, the person will be responsible for the achievement of good practice in the programme, ensuring the logistics function is delivering timely, cost-effective, high quality and appropriate support.. Ensure adherence to logistics procedures in the country office as per Oxfam GB procedures and documentation. Manage Vehicle and staff movements to ensure cost effectiveness and proper fleet management in accordance to Oxfam policies. Maintain efficient systems and Procedures to ensure efficient and cost effective purchases for the office and any programme requirements. Maintain databases of suppliers of goods and services for easy access. Support arrangements and facilitation for accommodation, hotel bookings and travel arrangements. Contribute to the budget and monitoring processes in liaison with the finance department and Programme Managers to ensure that logistics needs are factored into programme planning realistically. Develop and monitor a budget for all administration costs and ensure regular maintenance for all office equipments. Ensure for proper use of vehicles and other equipment in the country office with due regard to health and safety standards and guidelines.. Produces and Compile timely and accurate reports for decision making process in the Country office.
    The person

    A candidate envisaged for this role will hold a relevant qualification and extensive experience in logistics. Proven knowledge and experience of computerized systems preferably with excel and word. Ability to manage competing tasks and ability to follow instructions under limited supervision. Proven records of effective management of people and resources including planning and organising skills. Commitment to Oxfam equal opportunity and gender policies while demonstrating experience of integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics programmes. Well developed interpersonal skills and team skills. Fluent in English both verbal and written and ability to communicate in Kiswahili

    We are currently looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Programme Officer for student rights to enhance the impact of our work in Tanzania.
    The role

    Reporting to Education Advocacy Programme Manager, the person willwork with education stakeholders in improving education quality by empowering students to have voice and space to demand a better education, and participate in school decision-making to find practical ways to achieve their education needs. Develop and implement projects in accordance with the overall Pupils' Barazas Initiative and manage implementing partners of the "Pupils' Barazas Initiative" project, as well as consultants and contractors. Establish and sustain links between and among stakeholders; students, teachers, community leadership, education officers and inspectors of schools. Engage with civil society and coordinate with Government departments and international agencies on programme issues within the programme areas and for issue-based networking. co-ordinate the cross-region activities and manage relationship with Oxfam programme partners through regular visits and undertake project appraisal, monitoring, evaluation, including financial monitoring; and ensure minimum organisational programme management standards are met. Produce quality reports and documentation for management, donor requirements and communication purposes nationally and internationally. Initiate project activities that build space for and empower students' active citizenship with a context of an ongoing mainstream development programme. Support the process of capacity building of project partners in the programme areas and coordinate with Oxfam staff internally on donor requirements and maintain good donor relations.
    The role

    A candidate envisaged for this role will hold a relevant academic qualification in social science, humanities or development related field. Proven ability in project development, planning, implementation monitoring and evaluation. Excellent communication skills and fluent in both Swahili and English. Ability to interact with donors, significant institutions and senior local and central government officials for building networks and relationship with them. Proven experience in planning and delivery of youth empowerment initiatives with high motivation to work with youth and high understanding of right based approaches. Good understanding of education systems in Tanzania and issues surrounding provision of quality basic education for all in the country.
