Wasiwasi (Anxiety) ni jina linalotumika kufafanua vile mtu anavyohisi wakati wa hatari maumivu au matatizo. Watu wakiwa kwa hali hii na wasiwasi huwa wanjihisi kukasirika na kufadhaika.

Hali ya wasiwasi inaweza kutokana na hali ya maisha, kufutwa kazi, uhusiano kuvunjika, ugonjwa, ajali kubwa au kifo cha mpendwa. Kuwa na wasiwasi ni jambo la kawaida katika nyakati hizi kwa muda tu.

Kwa sababu wasiwasi ni jambo la kawaida, ni muhimu kutofautisha baina ya kuwa na wasiwasi unaoletwa na matokeo ya kawaida ya maisha na dalili za ugonjwa wa wasiwasi (anxiety disorder).

Magonjwa ya wasiwasi ni kundi la magonjwa yaliyo na dalili za kuwa na wasiwasi mwingi mno usio wa kawaida kwa muda mrefu.

Watu huathiriwa na anxiety disorder wakati kipimo cha wasiwasi kimezidi sana mpaka kinatatiza maisha yao ya kawaida.

Magonjwa ya wasiwasi ni magonjwa ya ubongo yanayoathiri watu wengi zaidi. Mmoja kati ya watu ishirini huathirika. Magonjwa haya huanza mapema mtu anapokomaa lakini pia yanaweza kuanzia utotoni ama baadaye maishani. Wanawake huathiriwa zaidi kuliko wanaume.

Magonjwa ya wasiwasi hutokea kighafla tu mara nyingi bila sababu.
Aliyeathiriwa huwa na shida ya kupumua na mpapatiko wa moyo. Dalili zingine ni kutokwa na jasho, kutetemeka, kuhisi

kukabwa chevuchevu, maumivu ya tumbo, kuzirai, kuhisi ni kama mtu anadungwadungwa na sindano,
kushindwa kujimudu na/ama kupoteza tumaini.

Magonjwa ya wasiwasi huathiri mtu anavyofikiri , anavyohisi na pia tabia zake .Asipotibiwa mapema ,maisha yake hutatizika mno. Hata hivyo, matibabu ya wasiwasi humtibu mtu kikamilifu.
Ni zipi aina kuu za ugonjwa wa wasiwasi?
Kuna aina tofauti za ugonjwa wa wasiwasi (anxiety disorder).

Wasiwasi kijumla
(Generalised anxiety disorder)
Ugonjwa huu huwa na dalili za kubabaika sana kwa jambo lolote maishani kama afya, jamii, marafiki, hela ama kazi.
Watu walioathiriwa hujibabaisha kuhusu hatari inayoweza wajia au wapendwa wao na kubabaika huja na huzuni na pia hali ya kushtuka.

Walioathiriwa na hofu ya ghafla wanaweza kuwa, au wasiwe, na woga wa mahali (Panic disorder with and without agoraphobia)

Walioathiriwa na ugonjwa huu hushutuka sana kwa mambo ambayo wengine huona ni kawaida tu. Wao huhisi ni kama mioyo yao inasimama. Huwa wanaogopa kutiwa kichaa, kuwa mwishowe watakufa, ama kupoteza kujimudu.

Woga huu huwa ni chanzo cha woga wa mahali panapoweza kutatiza maisha yao mno. Woga wa mahali ni aina ya woga wa kuwa katika mahali au hali ambazo ni vigumu kuzihepa mahali pia ni woga wa kutopata usaidizi wakati mtu anapouhitaji.

Watu walio na woga wa mahali (Agoraphobia) huwa na woga wakiwa katika maduka makubwa au sokoni, kunapo umati wa watu, sehemu wanapoweza kuzuiliwa kama kichumba, magari ya umma, lifti ama mabarabara makuu.

Watu walio na woga wa mahali hutulia wakiwa na mtu wanayemuamini au pia chombo. Mtu huyu aweza kuwa ni mumewe au bibiye, rafiki, mnyama au dawa .

Woga maalumu (Specific phobia)
Kila mtu huwa na woga usio na sababu lakini woga maalmu ni woga uliozidi wa kitu fulani au tukio fulani unaoweza kutatiza maisha ya mtu.

maji, mbwa, sehemu pasipo wazi, nyoka au buibui.
Mtu aliye na woga maalumu hutulia wakati kitu aogopacho hakipo. Hata hivyo, akitazama hicho kitu hushtuka na kushikwa na wasiwasi.
Watu walio na woga maalumu hufanya chochote kiwezekanavyo kuepukana na hicho kitu waogopacho.

Woga wa wa watu
(Social phobia)
Woga wa watu ni woga uliozidi wa watu au hali ya kijamii. Aliyeathiriwa hudhani atatuhumiwa na kupelelezwa na wengine. Watu walio na woga wa watu hutatizika na hufanya iwezekanavyo kuepukana na watu au kuwavumilia.
Wao huwa hawafanyi mambo ambayo wangefanya kwa kawaida kwa sababu wamo mbele ya watu .Watajaribu kujizuia kula, kuongea, kuandika au kunywa kwa njia ya kawaida ama kujitenga kutoka watu.

Ugonjwa wa kujilazimisha
(Obsessive-compulsive disorder)
Hali hii humfanya aliyeathiriwa kuwa na mawazo yasiyofaa. Yeye hutenda matendo fulani ili ajaribu kuondoa hayo mawazo.
Matendo hayo hupoteza muda na hutatiza maisha ya kila siku. Kwa mfano, watu hujilazimu kunawa mikono, kutazama kama mlango

umefungwa au jiko limezimwa na hufuata amri au masharti.
Watu walio na ugonjwa wa kujilazimisha husikia aibu sana na huficha matendo yao hata kutoka jamii zao.


Wasiwasi wa baadaye
(Post traumatic stress disorder PTSD)
Watu waliopata masaibu makubwa kama vita, dhuluma , ajali, moto au hatari ya kibinafsi huendelea kuwa na woga kwa muda mrefu baadaye . Sio watu wote ambao hupitia haya masaibu hupata wasiwasi wa baadaye.

Watu walio na (PTSD) huyapitia masaibu hayo mara kwa mara kila wanapokumbuka hayo matokeo ama wapatapo jinamizi. Mara nyingi ni jambo fulani ndilo huwasababishia makumbusho ya hayo masaibu na hujaribu kuepuka hili jambo. Kupoteza hisia ni dalili ya (PTSD) pia. Shida za afya ya ubongo

Watu walio na ugonjwa wa wasiwasi wa aina fulani wana nafasi ya kushikwa na huzuni pia. Kwa habari zaidi za huzuni , soma kijarida Ni nini hali ya huzuni?

Utumizi wa pombe na madawa ya kulevya huonekana na wale walio na wasiwasi. Hii hufanya kutibiwa kwao inakuwa vigumu. Ni muhimu kupunguza unywaji wa pombe na Madawa.


Ugonjwa wa wasiwasi unasabibishwa na nini?
Kuna sababu nyingi zinazosababisha ugonjwa wa wasiwasi na zinahusiana. Sababu za aina ya magonjwa fulani ni tofauti na sio rahisi kutambulika.
Sababu za kigenitiki (kurithiana)

Inafahamika kuwa magonjwa ya wasiwasi hupatikana katika jamii fulani. Hali hii ni kama ile ipatikanayo katika jamii za watu walio na ugonjwa wa kisukari ama ugonjwa wa moyo. Watu waweza pia kushika hii tabia ya wasiwasi kutoka wazazi au watu wengine wa jamii.
Sababu za kemikali

Aina ya magonjwa ya wasiwasi mengine husababishwa, kidogo tu, na kukosekana na uzanifu wa kemikali zilizo kwenye ubongo Chembe akili (fahamu) ya bongo inayochunga hisia na tabia ya mtu linaweza kuhusika.

Tabia
Watu walio na tabia fulani hushikwa na magonjwa ya wasiwasi kwa njia rahisi kuliko wengine. Watu wanaoghafilika au kukasirika kwa haraka hushikwa na ugonjwa wa wasiwasi kwa urahisi.
