Scania 113M. de Boer. This Dutch truck is a regular visitor to European Truck festivals. It was seen at Peterborough in 2002.Scania 144G. TRANSport.CO. This truck is the same truck as seen on Page 1. It is about to leave Nottingham in 2003 for the Guggenheim Museum in Venice.Iveco Stralis. Redbank. Voted truck of the Year in 2003, this model is a common sight on European roads. The truck was seen in Kent in 2003
Tatra. TBG METR STASU. This heavy duty mixer was seen in Prague in 2000.ERF ECS. Euromix. ERF are now part of the MAN group and this 4 axle powder tanker was seen in Kent in 2002.Foden S21. Geoff Dunn and Son. This early 1960’s restored Foden can often be seen on the Truck Rally circuit. The truck was seen at Peterborough in 2003.
Scammell S 24. Econofreight. Econofreight are a large Heavy Haulage specialist and had many Scammells in it’s fleet before they were stopped being manufactured. The truck was seen in Kent returning to it’s base in 1996.Guy Otter. T.M.Birkett and Sons. This rare truck was seen at a transport rally at Swindon in 2002.Scania 144. Taylors. This working truck has quite a spectacular livery and was seen at a Truck Festival in 2003.
TAM 190 T 15. TAM is a Yugoslavian company and the truck was seen at Pula, Croatia in 2001.DAF CF. Trenchdare. This truck is a curtain sider with high roof sleeper cab. It is in a very clean and polished condition and was seen at a Truck Festival in 2003.Leyland Terrier. This 1970’s truck is a car transporter and had just delivered an exhibit for a Car Rally at Swindon in 2002.
DAF CF. Bertschi. This Belgium company specialises in hauling tankers and the truck was seen in Kent in 2003.Volvo F88. H.E.Payne. This truck and trailer has just recently been restored and was in immaculate condition waiting to be judged at the Peterborough Truck Festival in 2003.OAF 41.502. Felbyrmayr. This Austrian company has a very large fleet of prime movers and is one of the top Heavy Haulage companies in Europe. The truck was delivering a transformer and was seen at Dartford docks in 2002.
MAN TGA. LkW Augustin. This German company has a large fleet of MAN trucks and are a regular sight on British roads. This truck was seen in Kent in 2003.Scammell Contractor. Willson and Co. The Scammell was the mainstay of the British Heavy Haulage Industry up until their demise. This truck was seen at a Scammell Rally at Paddock Wood, Kent in 1997.Bedford TM. This was one of the last models Bedford brought out before they ceased trading in 1986. This truck is still working and was seen in East London in 2002.
Mercedes 2644. Hewden. This truck is a support vehicle to a 300 ton Demag mobile crane. Hewden are one of the biggest crane companies in England with cranes lifting up to 1000 tons. The truck was seen at one of their depots in Erith, Kent in 2002.Magirus Deutz. Known as “The Jupiter” this German truck with a fire appliance body was seen at a British Truck Festival in 1994.Volvo FH12 420. Van Den Bosch. This large Dutch company mainly hauls tanker trailers and this new model Volvo was seen outside Dartford docks in 2003.
Henschel. This old German truck company was taken over in 1967 and eventually became dissolved into the Daimler Benz empire. The truck was seen at Barking, Essex in 1975.Foden Alpha 420. J Miller Transport. This very clean and tidy new model Foden was seen at the Peterborough Truck Festival in 2003.Scammell Constructor. R.T.Williams. An ex Heavy Haulage tractor, this Scammell is now a recovery vehicle and was seen at Peterborough in 2003.
DAF 95 XF 530. M Howdon. This DAF with Mickey Mouse murals is a working truck hauling flat bed trailers and containers. It was seen at the Peterborough Truck Festival in 2003.Seddon model 30. T. Cooper. This model was built in the late 60’s and was the last model made before Seddon bought Atkinson and eventually became Seddon Atkinson. The truck was seen at Deptford, London in 1975.Volvo FH12 420. Bronzeshield. This Volvo is a support vehicle to a 300 ton Liebherr mobile crane. This company, based in Dartford has a wide selection of small cranes and the truck was seen in their yard in 2003.
Dennis Delta. Dennis specialise in Fire Appliances and dustcarts and this truck was manufactured in 1980. It was seen at an army rally in 1998.Seddon Atkinson 340. BPH. This truck is owned by an engineering company and supports a hiab behind the cab ideal for lifting heavy machinery and plant. The truck was seen at the Peterborough Truckfest in 1999.Volvo FH12. Ristimaa. This Finnish truck has a spectacular paint job and has one many prizes at Truck festivals around Europe. The truck was seen at the Peterborough Truck Festival in 2003.
DAF 95XF. Gibb’s. This famous Scottish company recently ceased trading because of the downturn in the current economic climate. The picture was taken in Dartford, Kent in 2002, shortly before the announcement. The fleet was sold and I have since seen this truck with the Gibb’s name removed but not the truck name, Highlander.Dodge Commando 100. Restorex. The Dodge marque was traded by Chrysler and Peugeot and was finally sold to Renault who phased the name out. The truck was seen at Charlton, London in 2000.OAF 41.602. Felbermayar. This is one of Felbermayrs latest trucks and is carrying a transformer on a 9 axle modular trailer. The truck was seen at Dartford docks in 2003.
Austin FF. This truck with it’s dropside body was seen at an auction at Cambridge in 1999. It was not part of the sale.DAF CF. JDT. This model is a popular truck in the British tipper industry. JDT are a local company with a variety of 4 axle tippers. The picture was take near Gravesend in 2003./FONT>ERF E10. This truck was seen by a large fairground at Blackheath, London. The truck hauls one of the rides. The picture was taken in 2003.
Volvo F16. Multrier. Multrier are a large French Heavy Haulage company and were seen carrying a large metal vessel on a 2 bed 4 trailer. The truck was photographed near Rouen in 1998Scania 144L 530. S.Buret Transport. With its air brush paint work, this French truck is regularly seen at Truck Festivals around Europe. The truck was seen at Peterborough in 2001.MAN TGA 26.410. T. Moorhouse Ltd. This newly registered MAN has old fashioned coachlines giving it a striking livery. The truck was seen recently at Gravesend, Kent.
DAF 2600. This restored truck is seen with a bulk powder trailer. It was seen at a Truck Festival in 1995.ERF LV. This working truck was quite old when the picture was taken in 1975. This type of model is often seen on Road Runs and the one pictured was seen at Deptford, London.ERF ECT. BP. This is the latest model ERF. Owned by MAN it has the latest TGA cab. Usually seen in this livery hauling petrol tankers, the truck was seen at Gravesend, Kent in 2003.
Volvo FH12.460. M. White Ltd. This latest model Volvo has the Globetrotter cab. Hauling a curtainsider trailer for quick side loading, the truck was seen at Gravesend, Kent in 2003.Steyr 26.S.46. Alwin Schwertler. This Austrian truck was seen in Dartford in 2002. Steyr is part of the MAN group and shares the MAN cab.Berna 4VF. Hangartner AG. This Swiss registered truck was seen in the East End of London in 1975. Berna was a Swiss made truck and after a long association with Saurer, both manufacturers were ultimately absorbed into the Daimler Benz empire.
Mercedes Actros 4160S Titan. This model is made by the Heavy Haulage Division and this 8 x 4 has a GCW of 250 tonnes. The truck was seen at the Mercedes stand at a Truck Festival in 2003.Foden Alpha 3000. Grosvenor. Grosvenor are a Waste Management company in the Kent area and have a large fleet of Fodens in a visible yellow livery. The truck was seen at Gravesend, Kent in 2003.Mercedes Axor 2643. This is a new model from Mercedes aimed at the fleet market in Britain. It is already becoming a common sight on the roads. This truck was seen at Gravesend, Kent in 2003.
Foden 4525. Thurgood. This owner operator regularly runs from Kent to Scotland. The truck was seen parked up at Peterborough in 2003.AEC Militant. Hedger. This ex military vehicle is now used as a recovery vehicle and is a regular entrant at Truck Festivals and Road runs. The truck was seen at Swindon in 2002.

Alwin Schwertler. DAF 95 XF. An Austrian Company. The picture was taken at a distribution depot in Dartford, Kent. 2000Eleco Distribution Services. ERF EC11. Taken on the A2 near Dartford. The A2 is the main road from London to Dover. One of Britains biggest ports to the Continent. Taken in 1998.A.L.E. (Abnormal Loads Engineering). Faun 6x6. It runs ballasted at 48 tons and has a 600bhp Magirus V.12 engine. Seen waiting for a police escort at the Dartford Tunnel on its way back to its depot at Stafford. Seen in 2000
Ken Abram. Foden Alpha 6x2. Groupage and distribution company based in Lancashire. Seen on the A2 near Gravesend. 2000Bohnet. Mercedes 3548. 8x4. German heavy haulage company. Seen at Dartford docks 2001.Baxi Heating. MAN TG360A 4x2. Most homes in Britain use Baxi boilers for their central heating. Seen at the Newport Pagnall services on the M1. This is the one of the main motoways to the North of England. Seen in 2001
Momart. Renault Magnum 385. Momart is an art handling company. The vehicle is insulated, has a tail lift and has air suspension. Seen in East London in 1998.Norbert Dentressangle. Renault Magnum. ND is a very large French Distribution company with about 1500 vehicles. Photo taken on the M25 at Dartford. 2000. The M25 is an orbital motorway around London. It is vastly over populated with traffic far in excess of its design capacity. There are often very long traffic jams. They have been known on the worst ocassions to stretch over 20 miles.Norbert Dentresangle. Renault Premium drag and trailer. Seen on the A2 at Gravesend. 1999.
Dolphin. Probably an owner driver. Scania143H T series. Seen at Dartford docks 2001.Westdijk. Scania 144G. 8x4 530 bhp. This is a Dutch heavy haulage company. Seen at Dartford docks 2001.Emons. Scania 124L 4x2 400bhp. A Belgium company. The trailer is carrying glass. Seen on the A2 near Gravesend in 1999.
Volvo N88 seen at Stratford, East London in 1975. The registration plates are from Iran.Rynart Trading. Volvo FH 12 420. Seen at Dartford docks 2000. The truck appears to come from Holland but it doesn't have Dutch number plates.Ferrari. Iveco 6x2 tractor and step frame trailer. Transport for the Ferrari racing team. Seen on the A2 on its way to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone 1999.
B and L Transport. Daf 95. Seen at a large distribution warehouse in Dartford, Kent. 2000.Ford D-series. Access platform chassis. Seen in London, 2000. The truck has 1980 registration plates.Ford Cargo. Unusual twinsteer (Chinese six). Fitted with Hiab. Seen in the Eastend of London 1997.
Hammond. Seddon Atkinson Strato 325. This truck shares the same cab as the DAF 95 and Pegaso. Seen in Dartford, Kent 1995.Bryants. Seddon Atkinson Strato 350. This truck shares the same cab as the Iveco. Seen on the A2 trunk road into London 2000.Berliet TR 244. A French registered truck seen in the Eastend of London in 1975. It had just travelled through the Rotherhithe Tunnel. Probably an illegal act at the time.
Atkinson Leader. 6 x 4 sleepercab. This vehicle is an ex 65 ton heavy haulage tractor working as a showman truck. Seen at a Military Vehicle rally in Kent. 1997. The truck has 1972 registration plates.Trans Co. Scania 144G 530 Topline. This is an 8 x 4 heavy haulage tractor registered in Austria. It has a 60 ton furnace on its way to Germany. Seen at Dartford Docks 2000.B.P.Mitchell. Scania 114G 340. The truck is carrying a stone crusher and has Irish registration plates. Seen at the Dartford River crossing in 2001 awaiting a police escort.
Harris. AEC Matador. This is an ex military vehicle working for a showman company. Seen in 1997 at a Scammell rally in Kent.Canute. Scania 114C 340. This is a long wheelbase 8 x4 chassis ideal for the transportation of building blocks. The truck has a self loading crane and was seen in 2000 on the A2 trunk road in Kent.Foden S 80. A showmans truck seen at an Easter fair on Blackheath, London in 1998.
Volvo F7. A showmans truck seen at a Whitsun fair in Hackney, London 1998.Richards and Son. ERF EC 11 Olympic. A large East Anglian distribution and storage company. This company had the last EC model off the production line. Seen in 2000 on the A2 trunk road into London.Manchetts. Volvo F12. Manchetts are a large recovery vehicle company in the Cambridge area. Truck seen at a truck festival in 1999.
Kralowetz. Mercedes Actros 1843. Kralowetz is a large tanker haulage company. The truck was registered and seen in Luxembourg, 2000Allmans Transport. ERF B series. The picture was taken at a roadside cafe at Dartford, Kent in 1998. Carrying rolls of paper for the newspaper industry. Nicely sheeted and roped. Truck registered in 1981.DAF 95 XF. A nicely sheeted and roped tri-axle flatbed trailer. I have also seen this truck hauling containers. Seen on the M25 at Dartford.
Renault R420. The truck is probably loaded with plywood boards collected from one of the South of England ports and is seen travelling northwards on the A2 trunk road in 2000.Wilson. Scania 143E 500. Wilson are an East of England based heavy haulage company with several Scania 4 axle tractors. The picture was taken Dartford docks in July 2001.DAF 85 330. A 4 axle gulley cleaner. Seen in 1999 at a Kent showground.
DAF 2000. This truck was seen in the East end of London in 1975. It has a tilt trailer and was registered in Belgium.Blue Circle Cement. DAF 85 400. This 3 axle day cab tractor is hauling a powder tanker. The company has a large fleet of tankers and has depots all over England. Seen in 2000 travelling through Kent.Taylors Removals. Dodge Marsden. Marsden make pantechnicon bodies for removal companies. They usually use the Bedford chassis. The vehicle was seen in Sussex in 2000 and looks as if its in retirement. 1983 registration plates.
Securicor Omega. Iveco Eurotech. This company has a large fleet of vehicles and is a parcel, pallet, storage and distribution haulier. The truck was seen at their depot in Dartford, Kent in 2000.MAN 28 462. This truck is probably used for the traction of containers. There is a large container port at the Isle of Grain, Kent. The truck was seen in 2000 heading for London through Kent.Foden S10. 8 x 4 tipper seen near Dover, Kent 2001. First registered in 1981.
Gebruder Weiss. Steyr 19 S 46. This is a large Austrian distribution company. It has a large fleet of Steyr and Volvo trucks. The Steyr truck is based on the MAN cab and mechanicals. The truck was seen at a large storage company in Dartford, Kent, 2000Fiat 690 N2. An old 4 axle flatbed seen in Bologna in 1997.
