    Kuna mambo mengi watu tunafanya kwa kufuata mkondo wa waliotangulia. Nafikiri kuna njia mbili maarufu ambazo hutumika kupata maarifa, nazo ni Elimu na Uzoefu. Kwa hiyo elimu ni njia ya kujifunza maarifa. Lakini nini jukumu la walio elimika katika Jamii? Kwa maneno mengine, Madhumuni ya elimu ni nini? What is the purpose of education?

    madhumuni ya elimu iwe formal ama non-formal ni kuwezesha upatikanaji wa maarifa(knowledge), ujuzi (skills) na mwelekeo (attitude) elimu hulenga kumpatia mtu uwezo wa kuijua dunia zaidi na hasa mazingira yake na kuweza kukabiliana na changamoto za maisha kwa ujumla. watu huenda shule kupata formal education kwani si rahisi sana akaipata kwa uzoefu pekee. shule humleta mtu katika mazingira tofauti tofautii na kumfumbua akili yake juu ya mambo amabayo hakuwa anayajua kabla

    jukumu la waliolimika hasa kwa kweli ni kusaidia wengie au kusaidiana nao kutatua mataizo
    philosophically, kuna njia mbili ya kwanza ni kumkomba mwanadamu na ya pili ni kurithisha tu yale ya vizazi vilivyopita. Kwa hiyo wasomi wanapaswa kujitahidi kuwasadia watu wajikomboe. labda swali linakuja KUJIKOMBOA ni nii? au kunahusu nini?

    Kujikomboa ni uwezo wa mtu kudhibiti dhamira namatendo yake, uhuru wa kufikiri ktk kufanya uamuzi juu yake, jamii na mazingira yake. UKOMBOZI huo ni kunahusu uhuru wa fikra, kutenda na wajibu wake ikiwemo kuelewa athari za vitendo vya mtu katika jamii.

    Lakini kuna uwezekano kwamba mtu anaweza maliza shule lakini hajajikomboa.
    Kulingana na Mtazamo wa William James, alizaliwa 1842, ambae ni Mwana Falsafa na Mwana Saikolojia: Alisema kwamba-
    "Kuna namna mbili za maarifa. Nazo zinatofauti dhahir. Tunaweza kuziita kua ni Maarifa ya kitambulisho, na Maarifa ya kuhusu". There are two kinds of knowledge broadly and practically distinguishable. We may call them respectively Knowledge of Acquaintance and Knowledge-About. [William James, Psychologist & Philosopher b. 1842].
    Nikisherehesha alivyosema James, ni kwamba

    MAARIFA YA KITAMBULISHO ni maarifa ya kutambua elimu bila kufahamu kuhusu elimu hiyo. Kwa mfano: Mtu mwenye elimu ya kitambulisho anaweza kuhitimu na akapata shahada, lakini hana ufahamu wa kuhusu maarifa hayo. Kwa mfano mtu ana shahada ya uchumi, na alifaulu vema, lakini hawezi kutumia maarifa aliyoyasomea katika maswala ya uchumi. Kwa hiyo huyu mtu ana maarifa ya kitambulisho.

    MAARIFA YA KUHUSU, mtu mwenye maarifa kuhusu elimu, anafahamu kuhusu yale alie yasomea. Kwa mfano: Mtu mwenye elimu kuhusu uchumi, hata kama hana shahada, anafahamu maswala ya kuhusu uchumi.
    Kwa maana hio, mwenye maarifa ya utambulisho, haitumii maarifa yale katika kufanya maamuzi hasa yanayohusiana na kile alichosomea. Ni kama vile alivosema PLOTINUS Philosopher aliezaliwa 205 C.E katika First Ennead II.
    Plotinus alisema kua "Maarifa ikiwa hayato amua kitendo, basi ni maarifa yaliyo kufa" Knowledge if it does not determine action, is dead to us. [Plotinus, Philosopher b. 205 C.E]

    SWALI linalonijia ni kwamba, ikiwa watu wenye elimu wana jukumu la kufundisha wengine (kama ilivoandikikwa na mdau), Maarifa yanayopatikana ambayo ndio lengo la elimu, ni jukumu la nani kuamua elimu ya aina gani mwanafunzi aondoke nayo kutoka shule?

    Mkuu sijaelewa hilo neno METAPHYSICS limeingiaje kwenye mada. Kuwa makini unapotumia maneno vinignevyo utapotoshwa au kupotosha zaidi.

    Baada ya Ukoloni, Tanzania, Kenya na karibia Africa nzima, Vilijengwa vyuo vikuu vingi. Kwa hiyo, mpaka sasa kumekua na ongezeko kubwa la watu waliotwaa elimu hapa kwetu na waliotwaa elimu toka nje. Lakini ukiangalia hali za Maisha na Mazingira zimekua mbaya zaidi: Kwa maana hio ni muhimu tujiulize, Je madhumuni ya elimu ni kitu gani?

    Metaphyscs=Metafikia. Suala la madhumuni ya elimu linahusuina na FALSAFA ya METAFIZIKIA. yani kwanini tunatoa hela na muda mrefu kutafuta elimu. Kwani Hapo UD hawana somo la FALSAFA? yani ni kuhusu uhusiano baina ya binadam na mazingira na jamii. Ok, Metaphysics sio Physics.

    Kama ndicho ulichofundishwa kuhuhu metaphyics na ukakubali kumeza ni hatari. Kasome mkuu, tena soma vitabu vinavoeleweka sio vijarida.

Wasome kila Emmanuel Kant, Oanisha mijadala yao na mijadala mingine likiwemo hilo lako halafu uje na kitu substantial.
