Lipumba: Tumkumbuke Mwalimu Nyerere Siku ya Kuzaliwa

    Mwandishi Wetu Oktoba 15, 2008
    Raia Mwema~Muungwana ni Vitendo

    Asema aliowaamini ndio waliovuruga nchi

I agree with mr lipumba, we should celebrate his life not his death so his birthday would be more appropriate. By the way, does someone else think that the end is near looking at what's hapening locally and globally?

Yes, we remember the day Mwalimu was born, but not into the 70 years that he had on this valley of tears, but into eternal life!

An umbilical chord was cut when the baby Julius was ejected into mother earth, but that was about it! However, when Mwalimu breathed his last, a whole nation shook. Indeed, the whole world took note of it. We remember that day, as we really have no memories of the other day!

Is it possible for us to remember the day Mwalimu became one of us? How could we possibly remember what we have no memories of? Is it not entirely natural, even among secularists, to recall a person’s life on the day that life ended?

I submit that we should continue to honor Mwalimu on the day he was born into life everlasting.
