Rapper Lil Wayne walked out of New York's Rikers Island jail Thursday and was set to fly to Miami for a welcome home party thrown by his record label, his publicist said.
He'll soon head to a studio to work on new music, publicist Kia Selby said.
Lil Wayne, whose legal name is Dwayne Carter, began serving jail time on a gun possession charge last March.
