Caf is hoping to improve standards in local football in Africa through CHAN

Uganda and Rwanda have joined South Africa and Angola in qualifying for the 2011 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Sudan, the tournament for home-based players.

Rwanda secured their participation with a 1-0 home victory over Tanzania to go through 2-1 on aggregate.

Kenya meanwhile miss out despite beating their neighbours Uganda 2-1 in Nairobi.

The Cranes qualified for CHAN on the away goals rule after beating Kenya 1-0 at home in the first leg.
South Africa drew 1-1 in Lusaka to edge out Zambia 2-1 on aggregate.

Sifiso Mseni put the visitors ahead on 36 minutes, before Kennedy Mudenda equalised for the Zambians with 10 minutes remaining, but South Africa held out to qualify.

Angola progressed with a 2-0 second-leg victory over Malawi in Blantyre.

Jose Carlos scored after 15 minutes, before Andre Kuya doubled their lead nine minutes later and secured a 3-1 aggregate victory for the Angolans.
