If what Miguna has written in the book is true, then he has helped Raila with his credentials as an astute politician who puts his country first and his party second!! He is the type of leader that Kenya needs badly.

Jerome Corsi is not a household name in Kenyan politics yet the country is reeling from his latest work. The American author, political commentator and conspiracy theorist best known for his two New York Times bestselling books: The Obama Nation and Unfit for Command was deported from Kenya in 2008 while on a tour to promote his last book on Barack Obama. Jerome Corsi is also a leader of the Birther movement that claims Barack Obama was not born in America and his main goal is to destroy White-American culture.

His book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality was an attack on then candidate Barack Obama by linking him to radical Islam, "black theology" while race baiting to paint him as not fully American. He goes on to cite Barack Obama's use of marijuana while in college and his involvement in civil right politics among other allegations that he believed disqualified him from the presidency. The book was dismissed for its blatant lies and racism with the American fact checking organisation stating it was "a mishmash of unsupported conjecture, half-truths, logical fallacies and outright falsehoods." and that "A comprehensive review of all the false claims in Corsi's book would itself be a book." The attack on Barack Obama failed and many credit his fervent rebuttal for making the hitherto influential Republican Party operative and his affiliates the outliers in American politics.

Swift boat Politics

Jerome Corsi had registered success through his 2004 publication, Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry in which he lambasted the then Democratic Party nominee John Kerry and cost him the elections. In the book, Jerome Corsi alleges that John Kerry was dishonest while serving in the military during the Vietnam War and unpatriotic due to his opposition to war. The book was promoted as a first hand account of swift boat captains and other veterans that served with John Kerry during the war and was so successful that the term swift boating is now used to represent a vicious smear campaign or political attack. It was later on discovered that none of the veterans interviewed in the book served with John Kerry and many of the interviewees accused Jerome Corsi and his co-author John O'Neill of misconstruing their statements to taint John Kerry's record.

When Miguna Miguna was dismissed from his position as legal advisor in Prime Minister Raila Odinga's office over allegations of misconduct his first order of business was to establish contact with Jerome Corsi and other Republican Party operatives who were attempting to make a connection between Raila Odinga and Barack Obama. The conservatives were so desperate for a line of attack yet so ill informed about Kenyan politics that for months their leading talking point was "Barack Obama, the Kenyan, communist, muslim helped his cousin, dictator, fellow muslim and communist Raila Odinga spread violence after the 2008 elections and steal the election".

On 02/22/2012 Jerome Corsi flaunted the manuscripts to Miguna Miguna's book on his website(wnd.com) in an article titled, Obama's Kenyan Pal A Target of A Tell All Book: President helped put fellow tribesmen in office after supporters rioted. The article claims Raila Odinga is a sorcerer with a voracious sexual appetite. Corsi cites Miguna's book as "further documentation" for the allegations in his 2008 New York Times No. 1 bestselling book, "The Obama Nation".

Raila Odinga's alleged relations with Barack Obama made him a fair target for American conservatives and the end product is the 900 page book edited and developed by Jerome Corsi and Miguna Miguna. American styled partisan politics has officially made its début in Kenyan politics.

Miguna in Canada

Miguna Miguna fled Canada where he practiced law after being acquitted of sexual abuse charges leveled against him by two Kenyan women. The imposing Miguna Miguna allegedly overpowered and sexually abused the two vulnerable women in his office where they sought his counsel over their immigration cases. Miguna Miguna then sued the head of state of Canada; Queen Elizabeth, the Canadian Minister of Justice, the Toronto Police Board, the Crown Attorneys claiming $17.5 million in damages but his case was dismissed and he was ordered to pay millions of shillings in legal fees.How a man of Miguna Miguna's calibre made it to the office of the prime minister as a legal advisor remains a mystery. Miguna Miguna's past is enough to make any employer cringe and the fact that he was at the helm of Kenyan politics is more devastating to the Raila Odinga camp than his new book.

A lobby group allied to Raila Odinga's presidential campaign has asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to open charges against Miguna Miguna over allegations that he is privy to ODM’s participation in the 2008 post-election violence.
The Friends of Raila (Fora) group urged DPP Keriako Tobiko to prosecute Miguna for withholding evidence on the post-election violence.

Speaking at the launch of his book, Peeling Back the Mask, on Saturday, Mr Miguna said he was privy to the ODM campaign strategies and was present when the party declared that the 2007 General Election was a contest of 41 tribes against one.

FORA's legal advisor Anthony Oluoch on Monday rubbished Miguna's book as an exaggerated dossier that is ill timed and malicious.

“If indeed Miguna was aware that some MP’s allied to ODM participated in the post-election violence, why didn't he hand the information to the ICC?” posed Mr Oluoch.

FORA Deputy Patron and Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara urged Raila Odinga not to stoop low by responding to the allegations in Miguna's book

Mr Imanyara termed the publication as a joint PNU/G7 project.


“We are not calling for the banning of the book, we are urging Kenyans to buy it, read and make a decision for themselves,” he said.

FORA took issue with the title of the book, which they say is crafted to give the reader the impression that what the book contains is top secret.

The group asked Mr Odinga not to take any legal action against the book because it does not deserve his attention.

“The book is full of trash and Raila will not sink to Miguna’s level,” Oluoch said

MIGUNA'S BOOK IS JUST AN EXAGGERATED AND DISTORTED DOSSIER AIMED AT SETTLING OLD SCORES WITH ERSTWHILE COLLEAGUES AS HE SEEKS ACCEPTANCE IN THE RIVAL CAMPS.

Honestly, Miguna's comic relief Book titled "Peeling back the Mask…" is an ill-concocted revenge dossier full of exaggerations, distortions and misinformation pegged either on real events, rumours or imaginations at the material period of focus. There is no doubt that the Book adds no intellectual value to the field of political literature or governance, but is instead intended for settling old scores with erstwhile colleagues in the most damaging way while portraying the author as a crusader of best democratic practices. Undeniably, it falls below the bar of objective intellect, for it is not only subjective but is also bereft of any rigorous and objective analysis of events and issues of the period in focus. For further elaboration, just consider the following:-

First, the Book's title is cleverly crafted to give the reader the impression that what the Book contains is top secret hardly hitherto known to the Kenyan public. It is all lies, the truth is, the Book specifically focuses either on known events or street rumours upon which the author based his distorted, imagined and exaggerated narratives with a view to portraying his intended nemesis negatively while depicting other characters favorably contrary to what the public already knows about the events which occurred in the country.

Second, the author's cover photo presenting him indulging in the "last laugh" reveals the real intention of the Book, which is nothing but bitter revenge at erstwhile colleagues.

Third, it is easily discernable from the author's narrative that, the key targets for his exaggerated and damaging accounts, who happens to be his erstwhile boss and colleagues, are invariably portrayed in a negative way in all the acts. Surely, if his boss was all that lackluster as he claims, Miguna as a self-claimed paragon of democratic virtue should have deserted him much earlier, which he never did.

Fourth, the author has plunged himself into a dangerous minefield where he is acting the judge and the prosecutor in the absence of any convincing evidence and also in matters where his personal interest/ performance would be put under scrutiny. The stream of denials, dismissals and condemnations his narratives have invited from diverse characters mentioned adversely in the Book is instructive in this regard. This casts serious doubts on the forthrightness and expressed intentions of Miguna, the author. Any layleader would easily wonder why Miguna has unwittingly invited a pack of defamation suits against himself. It should be recalled that he had cleverly but unsuccessfully attempted to invite the Chief Justice to preside over the launch of his Book. Possibly, he belatedly got worried about the potential civil suits awaiting him.

Fifth, Miguna sounds simplistic in his narratives by failing to appreciate the state intrigues complexities that characterized politics in Kenya in the period leading to the 2007 disputed polls, which complexities had a bearing on what happened in 2007.

Sixth, whereas a Presidential re-run was actually the logical and legitimate demand of ODM, as the warring factions entered into negotiation, Miguna however sounds rather naïve by blaming his erstwhile boss for having entertained external proposals for a power sharing deal. He is naïve because the political temperature and environment in the country, following the disputed presidential polls, simply could not have allowed a re-run poll. One may be forgiven to ask whether Miguna was really in Kenya at the material time. The truth is, a Presidential re-run could have possibly aggravated the situation. For instance, who was going to preside over such a re-run? Was it going to be Kivuitu's ECK or what? Who was going to provide security given that the disciplined forces were already siding with the PNU? And would the vote counting and announcement of results be any different, considering those who were in-charge?

Hon. Raila Odinga did not negotiate a power sharing deal that gave birth to the grand coalition government out of weakness but out of his overwhelming desire to save Kenya from the precipice and stop the post election violence. He was aware of the hard line positions that Migunas' ilk who cared nothing about peace and the sanctity of human lives advocated at the expense of the displaced, maimed, dead and dieing. He was also aware of their raw lust for power that superseded any other reasonable considerations. We hate to imagine what would have happened to our beloved motherland if the hard liners had their way as advocated by Miguna.

Clearly, Miguna lacks objective analysis and assessment of both the subjective and objective situation on the ground at the material time.

Seventh, it is now a confirmed fact that Miguna's Book is in fact a PNU/G7 project against Raila. This has been amply evidenced by the positive responses from the PNU/G7 camp to the Book in contrast to the reaction the same camp accorded John Gitongo's Book, "Our Turn to Eat", which contained substantive accounts on a wide range of scandals including the Anglo leasing scandaL.

Last but not least, Miguna's Book is outrightly biased gained Hon. Raila Odinga who actually saved the country from descending into a civil war or total collapse, by accepting the power sharing deal. Having accompanied Hon. Raila to Ivory Coast where the PM went as the AU special envoy during the disputed presidential polls there, and witnessed the situation in that country, Miguna should have done a better analysis of the political situation obtaining in Kenya in 2008 and thereby appreciated the pragmatic decisions made by his erstwhile boss in accepting the power sharing deal.

FORA's considered opinion is therefore as follows:

1. That the Miguna Book is a PNU/G7 instigated project against Raila;

2. That the way PNU operatives have jumped into it confirms the Miguna Book is their project;

3. One wonders why PNU in general,and Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka in particular, never commented on John Githongo's Book " Our Turn to Eat" which mentioned State House very Negatively?;

4. Why has Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka never demanded resignations over the Goldenberg Scandal which occurred during his KANU hey days?;

5. What is the PNU/Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka's stand on the Anglo-leasing Scandal?

6. Why is PNU demanding action from Hon. Raila over mere allegations while they work with and protect aspirants who are charged with crimes against humanity; including mass murder and rape?

In conclusion, Miguna's book is not only an exaggerated and distorted dossier aimed at settling old scores with erstwhile colleagues as he seeks acceptance in the rival camps but its timing is also intended to divert attention from the IC and County Commissioners Saga.

We would like to urge the Prime Minister not to validate or legitimize Miguna's book with any form of response. Let Kenyans read the book and judge the Prime Minister's record on its own merit. History will take stock of Miguna's attempts to distort and defile history for financial gain, satisfy his psychotic ego and advance the cause of his sponsor's projects.

Let Miguna and his sponsors remember that the same Hon. Raila Odinga that he maligns today, together with other gallant sons of Kenya, have fought hard and suffered immensely to allow Miguna and other Kenyans the freedom of free speech that he now enjoys and even abuses.

Our view therefore is that Kenyan's should treat Miguna's Book with the contempt it deserves.

New twist as Miguna is sued by Raila's PA

Chief of Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr Caroli Omondi and Mr Miguna Miguna are headed for a legal battle over alleged
defamation.Omondi has instructed his lawyer, Mr George Oraro to file a case against Miguna,a former advisor to Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the Daily Nation, which is serializing the book-Peeling the Mask: A quest for justice in Kenya The move comes just a few days after Miguna dared anybody he has mentioned in his book to challenge the contents in court.

While addressing journalists during the launch of the book, Miguna reportedly said the contents of the book "were just a tip of the
iceberg."

"I am daring the people who are accusing me of libel to come forward and present their case. I will not hire a lawyer. I will present
myself," he said.

Miguna was sacked as an advisor of the Prime Minister. He went to court seeking to overturn his suspension but it was rejected by
Justice Mohamed Warsame.

"He is a man who exhibits mental and emotional fits in his defence of issues and principles which adhere to him. At the time when he was in good books with the Prime Minister, he came across as the son and heart of the PM," Judge Warsame had ruled.

Yesterday, while instructing his lawyer, Omondi claimed Miguna has defamed him and that publication of the alleged defamatory matter is not privileged.

"The concerned persons acted in bad faith in publishing the defamatory material without having taken reasonable care to ascertain whether or not the allegations were true or false," he said in the letter to his lawyer.

According to him, the defamatory matter published were not expression of opinion made in good faith "but averments of false facts punctuated by malice, ill-will and intended to injure my reputation." He claims Miguna, the publisher of the book and the Daily Nation
unlawfully published the defamatory matter concerning his person while they knew the allegations were untrue and intended to defame him.

Omondi has also instructed Oraro to act for him in compiling a brief to Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Media Council and Police with respect to the alleged defamatory matter and subsequent serialization of the book by Daily Nation.He has asked his lawyer to conduct an official search of the records of the Registrar of Titles and Registrar of Companies to determine the ownership of the land and the hotel business on the premises known as Heron Court Hotel situated along Nairobi's Milimani Road in Nairobi.

"Please write directly to the directors of the hotel requesting for their written confirmation about the identity of all individual
beneficial owners of the said hotel," he instructed.

In addition, he wants Oraro to write to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) requesting for a certified copy of their report on investigations of subsidized maize importation together with a copy of the Kenya Gazette Notice published by the commission in respect to the investigations.

Omondi is further seeking for a certified copy of a letter from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Director General confirming that the consignment of the disputed maize cargo imported by the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) in 2008 from South Africa and loaded at Maputo Port was kept by KRA in their bonded warehouse. The letter will also confirm that the maize was never released for public consumption but was instead re-exported out of the country, he says.

The Chief of Staff has also requested his advocate to write to Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) with a request for their written opinion on the total weight and dimensions of Sh54million in cash in Sh1000 notes.In addition, the lawyer will also write to Bavaria Motors with a request for a technical report on the boot size and maximum weight possible for loading therein with respect to BMW 318i Series.

"The brief will form a basis for filing criminal complaints with the police and Media Council against Miguna, his publishers and individual members of the editorial board of the Daily Nation newspapers as appropriate," he adds.

A copy of the brief will be presented to the DPP with a request that criminal proceedings be undertaken against the named persons.

Meanwhile PM's office issued a statement asking Miguna to report international crimes he alleges in his book to the relevant authorities concerned. A statement sent by PM's Spokesman Dennis Onyango dismissed Miguna's book as a collection of unsubstantiated claims about corruption without any evidence put forward.

Below are the excerpts of the statement sent by the PM's office:

Kenyans have been treated for quite some time to all sorts of demonization and unfounded allegations against the Prime Minister, as part of a desperate campaign by his political opponents to undercut his undisputed popularity and prevent his coming to power."
The opponents fear that his commitment to reform would seriously challenge impunity as well as their long hold on power. These anti-reformers have quite brazenly announced their commitment to the status quo by declaring their common goal is "Anyone but Raila."

As part of this campaign, Mr. Miguna Miguna's new book recycles past unsubstantiated allegations all these corruption calumnies against the Prime Minister, without offering a shred of evidence that could shed any new light.

His allegations do not deserve a response, and should be treated with contempt. If there was any evidence to back up the campaign against Mr. Odinga, his opponents- many of them powerful figures, unlike Mr. Miguna - would have long ago produced such proof to scuttle his presidential campaign.

But Mr. Miguna went one step beyond regurgitating these falsehoods in his book, and announced that he had evidence that implicates the Prime Minister in post-election violence, whose suspected architects are being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court. Mr. Miguna uses possession of this evidence to threaten and blackmail those who might seek to challenge him, telling them they should "kiss his feet" if they do not want him to reveal all.

Mr. Miguna's withholding such vital information from the authorities on a subject of such grave concern for Kenyans is a disservice to the nation and a further boon to entrenching impunity.

No less important, withholding evidence of a major felony, leave alone of mass murder which rose to the level of international crimes, is a violation of the laws of Kenya. Such silence is considered as abetting the original crime. Mr. Miguna, while claiming to be motivated only by the highest moral and ethical principles, is in fact obstructing justice in a case of immense national importance.

We know from Mr. Miguna's own assertions that he took no action to expose or report to the authorities the corrupt criminality he claims he saw in the Prime Minister's Office. Nor did he try to preserve his integrity by resigning, choosing to become the "whistleblower" AFTER he was suspended.

Kenyans must demand that Mr. Miguna back up his latest assertion that he has evidence concerning mass violence by disclosing what he knows.

THE REAL ARCHITECTS OF MIGUNA MIGUNA'S ATTACK ON RAILA ODINGA

Jerome Corsi is not a household name in Kenyan politics yet the country is reeling from his latest work. The American author, political commentator and conspiracy theorist best known for his two New York Times bestselling books: The Obama Nation and Unfit for Command was deported from Kenya in 2008 while on a tour to promote his last book on Barack Obama. Jerome Corsi is also a leader of the Birther movement that claims Barack Obama was not born in America and his main goal is to destroy White-American culture.

His book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality was an attack on then candidate Barack Obama by linking him to radical Islam, "black theology" while race baiting to paint him as not fully American. He goes on to cite Barack Obama's use of marijuana while in college and his involvement in civil right politics among other allegations that he believed disqualified him from the presidency. The book was dismissed for its blatant lies and racism with the American fact checking organisation stating it was "a mishmash of unsupported conjecture, half-truths, logical fallacies and outright falsehoods." and that "A comprehensive review of all the false claims in Corsi's book would itself be a book." The attack on Barack Obama failed and many credit his fervent rebuttal for making the hitherto influential Republican Party operative and his affiliates the outliers in American politics.

Swift boat Politics

Jerome Corsi had registered success through his 2004 publication, Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry in which he lambasted the then Democratic Party nominee John Kerry and cost him the elections. In the book, Jerome Corsi alleges that John Kerry was dishonest while serving in the military during the Vietnam War and unpatriotic due to his opposition to war. The book was promoted as a first hand account of swift boat captains and other veterans that served with John Kerry during the war and was so successful that the term swift boating is now used to represent a vicious smear campaign or political attack. It was later on discovered that none of the veterans interviewed in the book served with John Kerry and many of the interviewees accused Jerome Corsi and his co-author John O'Neill of misconstruing their statements to taint John Kerry's record.

When Miguna Miguna was dismissed from his position as legal advisor in Prime Minister Raila Odinga's office over allegations of misconduct his first order of business was to establish contact with Jerome Corsi and other Republican Party operatives who were attempting to make a connection between Raila Odinga and Barack Obama. The conservatives were so desperate for a line of attack yet so ill informed about Kenyan politics that for months their leading talking point was "Barack Obama, the Kenyan, communist, muslim helped his cousin, dictator, fellow muslim and communist Raila Odinga spread violence after the 2008 elections and steal the election".

On 02/22/2012 Jerome Corsi flaunted the manuscripts to Miguna Miguna's book on his website(wnd.com) in an article titled, Obama's Kenyan Pal A Target of A Tell All Book: President helped put fellow tribesmen in office after supporters rioted. The article claims Raila Odinga is a sorcerer with a voracious sexual appetite. Corsi cites Miguna's book as "further documentation" for the allegations in his 2008 New York Times No. 1 bestselling book, "The Obama Nation".

Raila Odinga's alleged relations with Barack Obama made him a fair target for American conservatives and the end product is the 900 page book edited and developed by Jerome Corsi and Miguna Miguna. American styled partisan politics has officially made its début in Kenyan politics.

Miguna in Canada

Miguna Miguna fled Canada where he practiced law after being acquitted of sexual abuse charges leveled against him by two Kenyan women. The imposing Miguna Miguna allegedly overpowered and sexually abused the two vulnerable women in his office where they sought his counsel over their immigration cases. Miguna Miguna then sued the head of state of Canada; Queen Elizabeth, the Canadian Minister of Justice, the Toronto Police Board, the Crown Attorneys claiming $17.5 million in damages but his case was dismissed and he was ordered to pay millions of shillings in legal fees.How a man of Miguna Miguna's calibre made it to the office of the prime minister as a legal advisor remains a mystery. Miguna Miguna's past is enough to make any employer cringe and the fact that he was at the helm of Kenyan politics is more devastating to the Raila Odinga camp than his new book.

ODM should make sure that they counter Miguna allegations; otherwise let them not think that everything will be a stroll in the park. Even though Raila's ADC & Co might opt for litigation or try to sue the source of those allegations for Libel, the eventual damage will be considerable. As one writer has even suggested that RAILA is not an "Angel"; did he forget that others would use the same suggestion to considers Miguna's side? They must challenge these allegations in court as insidious and shameless they feel this stint is to clear out their names. There is also one funny bit where Miguna openely becomes humoristic and says that he will go to court without representation if RAO ADC and PA opens up any litigation against him.

Why it is important that ODM go to court;

ODM must subdue these allegations because Miguna helped them with some house-keeping in the coallition government and therefore there is a possibility that he knows too many secrets of those politicians. Damaging allegations have also been made about the connection between ODM and the PEV, which has prompted the interest of NSIS and other security arms. And the accuser says that he has utilized just a portion of his ammunition and there is still more to come in the future.

Since also the ICC have remained selective in its prosecution of those implicated in the "secret" waki report(Choosing who to prosecute and those not to), there is a danger that the same stint might be used against ODM and that is the pitfall of using International criminal court to advance ulterior motives. Invitation of ICC into the kenyan political landscape was a welcomed move. In fact, the ICC was invited in good light; to be a deterrent to any one who would have thought to advance any political ambitions using violence. This means that if Kibaki succeeds in advancing his agenda to open up a criminal court in Arusha, the same schemes might be used. Which brings to question the credibilty of such courts. That would conclude that only a local free and independent court one founded on the rule-of-law is the only way forward.

Miguna flies out as row rages over his memoirs

Prime Minister Raila Odinga's former aide Miguna Miguna left the country on Monday night as a storm raged over his controversial book.

Accompanied by his wife and three children, Mr Miguna left aboard a KLM flight to the Netherlands that departed from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at around 11pm.

He flew out amid a furore raised by his book, Peeling Back The Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya, on his time as Mr Odinga's advisor before the two fell out last year.

Kenya Airports Police Unit and immigration department officers said the Migunas told them they would be away for about a month.

On his Facebook page, Mr Miguna quashed speculation that he had fled the country. He said he left via JKIA which has police officers, immigration officers, the NSIS, and other State institutions. "Why did they not arrest me if I was in fact a fleeing fugitive?" he asked.

He said he was on a promotional tour of his book. Mr Miguna lived in Canada as an exile for 20 years. He returned to Kenya in 2007.

His departure came just a day after Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko directed police boss Mathew Iteere to question him over claims that he had evidence on the 2008 post-election violence.

In a quick rejoinder, Mr Miguna said: "Does Tobiko or Iteere work for the ICC? How does he know I haven't spoken with the ICC? Jokers! That's all I can say for now!"

Mr Miguna had on Saturday, during the launch of the book, said he was privy to the ODM campaign strategies and was present when the party declared that the 2007 General Election was a contest of 41 tribes against one.

"I can take every leader to The Hague, they should actually kiss my feet... They actually begged me to go back to office when they knew that I could spill the beans," he said at Hotel Inter-Continental in Nairobi.

Mr Iteere said he received the letter from Mr Tobiko on Tuesday.

"We then realised he (Miguna) had left the country at 10.30pm (Monday). We believe he is not going to stay there (abroad) for long and hope to get a statement from him. We expect him to tell us what he knows," he said.

Mr Miguna, he added, was not being treated as a suspect and police only wanted to get information from him after which they would know what action to take.

Responding to Ms Sarah Elderkin's articles on him, Mr Miguna described them as "hateful, barbaric, dangerous and lacking respect for human rights.

In a related development, former anti-graft czar John Githongo said security concerns raised by Mr Miguna should not be ignored.

Mr Miguna had claimed that his life was in danger because of the information he revealed in the book. Mr Githongo, the Anglo-Leasing scandal whistle-blower, said the former PM's adviser had made himself a target.

"I have not read Mr Miguna's book, but I know that threats are given to stop information that is of public interest," said the former permanent secretary for Governance and Ethics who was the subject of It's Our Turn to Eat, a book about his time in President Kibaki's State House, written by Michela Wrong.

Civil society groups also accused the DPP of playing politics.

"Why does he fear going to court? Why is he trying to threaten me using goons...is that how a responsible prime minister behaves?"

He added : "I am not a project. It's a quest for justice. As ODM prepares a team of 50 lawyers to cool matters, I urge them to go ahead. I will teach them some law and take all of them to Hague."
