    Wanajamii,
    Niliwahi kusikia kuwa Lugha hukua, hudumaa na Lugha yaweza kufa.
    Mimi najiuliza endapo Lugha ya Kiswahili inakua, au iko katika hali gani?
    Je nawezaje kujua kama kiswahili kinakua au kimedumaa au kinadorora?

    Ingawa bado kina safari ndefu na kuhitaji mikakati ya makusudi kukiboresha na kukikuza zaidi, Kiswahili, kwa mtazamo wangu, kinakuwa tena kwa haraka sana. Unaweza kujua kwa kuangalia idadi ya watu wanaongea lugha hiyo duniani. Kasi ya kukua kwa kiswahili peke yake ingetosha kuwainua waTanzania kama Kiingereza kilivyowainua Waingereza duniani kote.

    Angalia Waingereza hivi sasa wanakula matunda ya Kiingereza na jasho la ubunifu wa mababu zao, hawana jipya la kujivunia tena duniani. Ndio maana wana mashaka na kasi za maendeleo ya nchi kama za China na India

    Mikakati ya makusudi ya kuongoza ukuaji wa lugha hii kwa kutunga vitabu na kusambaza walimu sehemeu mbalimbali duniani inahitajika. Idadi ya wanafunzi wanaohitimu vyuoni kwa mwaka kwa sasa hailingani na kasi hiyo wala haitoshi kuongoza ukuaji wa Kiswahili duniani.

    Kasumba ya Kiingereza inayowafanya watunga sera wetu kushindwa kukirushusu Kiswahili kiwe lugha ya kufundishia mashuleni inadumaza Kiswahili Tanzania kwani hadi sasa ni wachache hapa nchini wanaoweza kujieleza ama kwa Kiswahili au kwa Kiingereza fasaha, wengi wanaongea Kiswenglish....

    Kiswahili kinazidi kukua kila uchao, kwanza kwa uwingi wa wazungumzao, sasa ni karibu afrika nzima, vyombo vya habari kama E.AFRICA Luninga na Redio imefanya mapinduzi makubwa. mifano ya academy schools ni midogo sana na wao hutoka ktk jamii ya waswahili, japo hawatazungumza shule lakini hawawezi kutojua lugha ya kiswahili. wageni wengi wanaonesha hamu ya kujifunza lugha hii.

    Nadhani ni wazi Kiswahili kinakua.
    Ni kweli ya kwamba Tanzania uenezaji haukuendelea jinsi unavyotakiwa (ninavyoona hasa kwa sababu bado si lugha ya shule za sekondari na TZ ni kati ya nchi chache dunaini ambako vijana wanakwamishwa kwa kubadilisha lugha ya mafundisho baada ya darasa la saba)

    Lakini Kenya kwa jumla kimeendelea hata kama kisarufi na kimsamiati hakipendezi mno.

    Zaire/Kongo ya mashariki sijafika lakini nasikia ni imara. Uganda nimekikuta kinasaidia mawasiliano hata kama nje ya masoko ya miji ni kwa kubahatika.

    Nchi hizi zote zinaongezeka watu kwa mkasi mkubwa (angalia TZ: ilikuwa na wakazi milioni 25 miaka 20 iliyopita sas ni milioni 40 ; je si kweli ya kwamba siku hizi ni watoto wengi kuliko zamani wanaoanza kusema Kiswahili mapema badala ya lugha za kieneo??)

    Halafu angalia pia mtandaoni: mablogu (ingawa mara nyingi Kiswenglish) na ]sw.wikipedia.com (inayokua na kuhitaji wachangiaji zaidi!).

    Ila tu sioni Kiswahili Afrika kote. Nenda Afrika ya Magharibi jaribu kupata fufu kwa Kiswahili utaona.
