Kingunge Ngomale-Mwiru.
Veteran politician Kingunge Ngomale-Mwiru has blamed opposing groups and constant wrangles within Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) on selfish persons who would always want to be elected to parliament.
He said there was no doubt that some of the sitting members of parliament from the ruling CCM and opposition parties would lose in the next general election, observing that such a prospect was causing fear among some of the members of parliament.
Ngombale-Mwiru who is a member of the CCM National Executive Committee (NEC) made the remarks when officiating at a opening function of regional party youth wing meeting in Mbeya yesterday. He used the occasion to install youth leaders in the region, among them Mbeya regional youth commander, Laurent Mwakajumulo as well as district youth commanders.
The CCM district commanders are Epson Mwaikambo ( Mbeya Urban), Jovita Diame (Mbeya Rural), Barton Kihaka, (Mbarali), Philemon Msomba (Chunya), Elias Mwakalinga (Kyela), Prof.Mark Mwandosya (Rungwe) and Gedion Cheyo (ILeje). Mbozi district did not get youth commander as it did not meet the required standards.
However, the politician maintained that opposition parties should not think it would be a joy ride in their efforts to win may parliamentary seats.
He said: There are those who are predicting that CCM members of parliament will lose badly in the coming general elections, making some in the opposition camp to feel that victory would be won easily but the truth remains that many new faces will come from within CCM.
He said such changes are always experienced even within party elections, citing NEC where new entrants are always not below 50 percent, explaining that it was that kind of democracy that makes CCM alive.
Kingunge blamed the opposition parties for lack of democracy which he said has almost rocked all of the parties. He alleged that there is no future for the opposition parties in the country.
