People are funny in here. I doubt very much that if a handful of you can even spit in English proficiently. But when it comes to Monday morning quarterbacking (about someone's language skills) you are always there on the frontline.

    OPP,

Most people can probably afford not to spit this tongue as most people are not POTUR. Kikwete cannot afford not to spit, he is el presidente.

Umemuona Jaluo jana alivyochachafya Reds hapo Baltimore, on live TV no less? Hapo ndipo unaona he wasn't Harvard Law Review editor for nothing. Halafu nisikie tena upuuzi wa teleprompter.

Back to JK, lugha aside. Hata ukim "cut some slack" on grounds kwamba kajifunza ukubwani, tena choo kikuu cha Manzese, JK si mjenga hoja hata akiongea Kiswahili.

Kiingereza hata wazungu wa nchi nyingine wanachemsha, huyo mama anaintroduce hapo anasema "to put our foots together", horrible english, lakini ukimsikiliza unaona ana mtiririko unaotakiwa na unaweza kumsamehe lugha kwani ukisikia accent unaona si mother tongue.English is an illogical language anyway (not me, George Bernard Shaw said that, and I agree) so one's inability to master it may show logical thinking.Tatizo linakuja unaposhindwa kiingereza halafu ukakosa point vile vile.

I doubt ameshawahi kumsikia Ludwig von Mises ingawa anatakiwa kuwa economics major. You can never tell from his output. He might as well be a form four leaver.

    Lightweight one at that.

It will always be a doubt.

Well, the issue here is not his English skills. He speaks English really well. It's the lack of eloquence in discussing serious matters that should be piece of cake to him that I am not pleased with. He is the President of the Republic for heaven's sake. I expect him to be all-rounded. Raisi wetu ni "Celebrity President".

But the guy is an Economist! Apart from that,Imagine jamaa amekua foreign minister for ten years....no wonder we are still waiving our shallow foreign policy, poor economic policy, unhealthy socio-economic prosperity but heroes and Gold medalists in poverty and corruption.it's so disappointing but let us not loose hope, let us keep on daring! Angalia motto wangu hapo chini...

Don't get me started now...did you see him cut them off at times? When someone cuts you off that means he's upset. He kinda lost his cool during some of those exchanges. At one time he didn't even answer the question from Tom Price (of GA, of course).

Now, I'm not saying he's that bad. All I'm saying is he's not a great of a speaker as he's cracked up to be. He's not as he's advertised. He's not persuasive coz if he was then the healthcare bill would have been passed long ago when they had their super majority.

POTUS please!

I don't feel like goin' in on him but if I need to I can...

Heck give me a bad public speaker who can deliver the goods and I won't have a problem with it.

That other Bam bizz warrants its own thread (in fact there is one), lets not derail this.

I gotta second you on the above.

This is bigger than Kikwete, this is a reflection of something intrinsic lacking in the fabric of the Tanzanian people's collective psyche and intellect.

Ben, No! Wait a bit, the moto wako hapa chini is what is lacking in him right in Tanzania, kushughulikia mafisadi first. Ndiyo maana jana swali la kwanza aliloulizwa likawa linahusu "corruption". read the thermometer carefully to know the current temperature.
