EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Law Reform Commission of Tanzania invites applications from interested individuals to fill the following vacant posts. Candidates should be Tanzanians with ethical standards as well as commitment required for Public Service.

1.0 JOB TITLE: DRIVER GRADE II (3 Posts)

1.1 Duties and Responsibilities:
• To drive Commission Motor Vehicles.
• To keep the vehicles in good order.
• To record all trips in the Logbook in respect of the car assigned to him.
• To carry out minor repairs.
• To identify mechanical problems and report accordingly.

1.2 Required Qualifications:
• Holder of Ordinary Level Certification of Secondary Education (Form IV)
• Holder of Class “C” driving License.
• Minimum of three years clean driving Licence.
• Holders of grade II Trade test Certificates from any recognized Institution.
• Not above 45 years of age

1.3 Remuneration
According to the Government Salary Scale (TGOS A) and other terms and
conditions applicable in the Public Service.

2.0 JOB TITLE: LEGAL OFFICER GRADE II (2 Posts)

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities:
• Carry out review/ research activities as assigned.
• Prepare draft position papers, discussion papers and final reports.
• Writing research/ review reports.
• Prepare workshop proceedings.
• Prepare and air radio programmes.
• Prepare and write articles for Law Reformer Journal.
• Organizing and Conducting Meetings with NGOs and other stakeholders for the purpose of providing Legal Education
• Carrying out public consultation sessions for the purpose of discussing the Law and dispensation of Justice in Tanzania.
• Responding to individual’s various legal complaints.

2.2 Required Qualifications;
• Holder of a Bachelor degree in Law (LLB) from any accredited University.
• Should have completed a successful internship with the Attorney General’s Chambers.
• Computer knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Not above 45 years of age.

2.3 Remuneration
According to the Government Salary Scale (TGS E) and other terms and conditions applicable in the Public Service.

3. JOB TITLE: INFORMATION OFFICER GRADE II (1 Post)

3.1 Duties and Responsibilities:
• To publicize the functions of the Commission for Public Awareness.
• To facilitate commission advertisements on the media and website.
• To prepare and coordinate relevant events and exhibitions of the
commission.
• To coordinate proportion of speech for the executive secretary and
commissioners.
• To facilitate preparation of Commissioner brochures and journals.
• To collect and maintain relevant information for the commission.

3.2 Required Qualifications;
• Holder of a Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma in any of the following discipline; Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or International Relations from any accredited University or Institute
• Computer knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Not above 45 years of age.

3.3 Remuneration:
According to the Government Salary Scale (TGS D) and other terms and conditions applicable in the Public Service.
