FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

The East Africa Law Society (EALS) is a professional Lawyers' Association in
Eastern Africa with membership around the East African Community (EAC). It
brings together six (6) National Law Societies/Bar Associations as corporate
members (Burundi Bar Association, Kigali Bar Association, Law Society of
Kenya, Tanganyika Law Society, Uganda Law Society and Zanzibar Law Society)
and individual lawyer members.


The EALS seeks to recruit a strong, experienced, transformative, inspiring
and innovative leader for the position of Finance and Administration
Manager, to be based in Arusha and covering the region.


Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Finance and
Administrative Manager (FAM) will be in charge of Administrative and
Financial management functions at the Secretariat. The holder will provide
leadership in preparation of financial reports, programme, projects and
activity budgets and accounts reports. He/She will oversee and be
responsible for the keeping of all books of accounts and safe custody of
financial information of the organization. He/She shall work variously with
and supervise the Human Resources and accounts staff and oversee staff
welfare, suppliers' contracts and provision of up to date equipment,
facilities and supplies for the organization.


Knowledge, skills, and Experience:

. Be a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a bias in accounts with
CPA, ACCA, or its equivalent

. Be registered by and in good standing with the National Board of
Accountants and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA)

. Possess in depth knowledge of financial systems, financial/administrative
management and reporting

. Possess experience of implementing financial control systems and
procedures

. Have demonstrated experience of being a proactive financial manager with
risk assessment aptitude

. Have experience of Human Resource management, including recruitment,
disciplinary and grievance, terms and conditions.

. Have excellent Information Technology (IT) skills and experience with
accounting packages, team working, flexibility, and relationship building
skills.

. Specifically exhibit proficiency in computerized accounting.

. Experience and a working knowledge of the East Africa Regional Integration
process will be an added advantage

. Have at least six years experience in a similar position

. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential while a working knowledge of
French will be an added advantage
