UDART wana asilimia 51 na serikali asilimia 49 katika uendeshaji wa mabasi ya mwendokasi.

UDART put in receivership by TIB bank
SIMON Group, the company that runs rapid transit buses, UDART, is under receivership. This comes as the result of the Group to default a June 2008 debenture issued by TIB Development Bank.
The amount of debenture was not specified. The lender today issued a notice that appointed Ayoub Mtafya and Nuhu Sadiki Mkumbukwa both of NexLaw Advocates as joint administrative receivers (JAR) of Simon Group.

“…our powers include but not limited to taking possession of all assets and undertaking of the company [Simon], collecting income from the assets and where necessary dispose the assets,” NexLaw notice reads.

The receivers said by the virtue of the company being under receivership the powers of the directors in term of dealing with the assets of the firm ceased. “No one other than the JAR is authorized to receive any money due to the company or to deal with the assets of the company,” the statement said.

Simon Group won the tender to operate Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (DART) system that has a total length of 130.3 km, 18 terminals and 228 stations. The group also bought Usafiri Dar es Salaam (UDA) company three years ago.

The deal raised eyebrows as the value of UDA was alleged underestimated.

Washazoea daladala chafu ambazo wao hulipia nauli ya 300Tshs, ukiwaletea vyombo vya kisasa vyenye ustaarabu ambavyo unafaa ulipie wanalalamika hadi kuzimu. Halafu la kushangaza unakuta hata middle class wa Tanzania na wao wapo humo wanalalamika.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 7 – The high cost of living in the country is the most serious problem facing Kenya today, according to a recent finding by IPSOS.
At a total of 28 percent, inflation is followed closely by corruption at 20 percent with lack of employment coming in third at 15 percent based on respondent interviews during the research that targeted 2076 people.

Light train project to be launched in June, President Uhuru Kenyatta says
A project to construct a light commuter train network in Nairobi will be launched in June, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced Friday.
The project, co-financed by Kenya and Hungary, will ease traffic congestion in the city.
Hungary implemented a similar project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said no “development-conscious Kenyan” would oppose the Sh15 billion project.
The President made the announcement when he held talks with Hungary Ambassador to Kenya, Eduard Laszlo Mathe, who paid him a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi.
The President said the first phase one of the project will connect the Standard Gauge Railway end point in Syokiamu to the railway station in the city centre.
The project proposes to connect major roads in Nairobi to the tram network to transport passengers to the city centre.
The roads include Thika Superhighway, Ngong Road, Limuru Road and Ongata Rongai.
The President directed the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to ensure the project plan is on schedule.
The Hungarian ambassador said the proposed tram service will transform the way people in the capital city get to work.
“It is expected to transport about 300,000 passengers a day and even more when all the branches are fully operational,” he said.
“In line with Hungary’s new foreign policy for Africa to reinforce economic relations, we will train and equip Kenyans with skills to develop the project and own it,” he said.
