Warehouseman
The U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam is seeking an individual for the position of Warehouseman, in the General Service Office.
Note: All applicants must be residing in country and have the required work and/or residency permits allowing employment in country prior to applying for this position to be eligible for consideration.
BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Works with the labor crew performing various kinds of unskilled manual work and skilled manual supply duties at the Embassy Warehouse and other locations as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for delivery of furniture appliance to/from residences/warehouse and office.

2. Load and unload and store all types of furniture or supplies to their respective locations clean and tidy.
20%
3. Assure that property are properly arranged and cleaned.
20%
4. Delivering of party supplies to various residences as needed.
20%
5. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Education: Completion of Secondary School (form IV) education is required.
Prior experience: One year of warehouse experience or equivalent combination of warehouse and labor activities is required.
Language proficiency: Level III (good working knowledge) English ability and level IV (fluent) Kiswahili is required.
Knowledge: Must be able to learn locations of various types of supplies and learn to recognize items by sight and from oral description.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to perform moderately heavy work and make heavy lifts at times. Must have class D driving license.
