Kwa wale wanaopenda kuwa na operating system mbili kwenye kompyuta moja, unaweza kurun Windows na Ubuntu. Ubuntu ni open source, kwa hiyo hulipi kitu na pia haina matatizo ya virus.

A better way to do this is to install Ubuntu and Windows differently on two different partitions. The above way installs Ubuntu from Windows, inherently passing some of the undesirables (instabilities, security issues etc) of Windows.

Of course if one is not very comfortable with installing from CD and partitioning, then the linked explanation may prove to be the next best thing.

They say there is nothing Windows 7 can do that Ubuntu 9.04 cannot, I havent had the time to check out Windows 7, any testers with a comparison?

i have been using window 7 evaluation version since May at the same time i have been using Ubuntu 9.04, I agree there is nothing new on window 7 that ubuntu can not do. but if you are coming from Vista or XP, you will find window 7 a bit juicier.

Win 7 might be new and all,BUT there is a lot one can do with it than with LINUX.the fact being support for developers,while Microsoft has one of the most talented and diverse developers team.

Microsoft having 90% market share enjoys the support of majority of vendors/software developers who supports their OS as well.

LINUX might be a little ground where Security enthusiast play.but its no way an alternative to Microsoft.

We use LINUX because it is safer/less exposed and very customizable.

BUT to enterprises,people with special needs like DJ's and professional music directors and video editors,can not rely to LINUX due to its lack of drivers and enough developers who are willing to put quality applications for LINUX.

I am not sure if you are referring to openoffice. Openoffice can do almost everything Microsoft Office can do, including creating .doc, .xls and.ppt files that can be opened by Microsoft Office

Check out OpenOffice at www.openoffice.org .On top of more featurs than Microsoft Office, it is also free.

Kuhusu ku run Windows kwenye Mac hardware (if that is the question) as far as I know huwezi kwa sababu chip/ hardware za Mac ni tofauti na za PC. Ila ninachojua ni kwamba Mac Leopald inaweza kuwa installed on PC hardware.Nilishawahi kuinstall Mac on PC hardware kama test, ikafanya kazi vizuri.

Totally agree with you!
That is very true,tried it 2 years ago in a dell machine,all went fine except that there was some very deep issues in the Leopard kernel,that rendered the real world application of the hacking accomplishment very hard and painful.drivers..,software updates etc


Mac is in its core Linux so it can be installed in a PC but only for hacking uses not real life application.

is there anyone who is using the thing now?is it useful?!please share with us.

Installing Mac OS X Leopard On A PC In Three Easy Steps

Within 24 hours of the release of Mac OS X Leopard, dailyApps has posted a tutorial on how to install Leopard on a PC (aka HackinTosh) in three easy steps using a patched DVD image based on information posted to the OSx86 Scene forums.

Well its been only a day since the Mac OSX Leopard was released officially by Apple and the hackers have managed to create a patched DVD that everyone like you and me can use to install Leopard on PC’s without having to buy a Mac. Please note the tutorial that I am going to post is still experimental and things might not work the right way simply because it is still early days in hacking Leopard to work on PC’s. Well if you don’t mind your PC getting screwed then go ahead and try out this tutorial.

Install Snow Leopard on PC [using USB]

We had been into Mac OS X Installation on PC for a long time now. We ‘ve produced Three flawless guides, though complexity may have varied.​

• Install Mac OS X Leopard OSx86 on PC Dual Boot Windows 7, Vista in 9 Easy Steps

With all your generous support, we are now able to produce the Easiest Guide to Install Snow Leopard on PC.
Before We Start:

• You need Supported hardware.
• 8GB or Higher USB drive.
• Snow Leopard Install DVD ($29 upgrade disk works) or an equivalent downloaded ISO.
• Another Mac to prepare your thumb drive. You can also do this over a Hackintosh PC.
• The EP45UD3P Snow Leopard install package: [ame="http://www.zshare.net/download/678900076d1471e0/"]Download[/ame]. This Automates all CommandLine work.

Step 1: Prepairing USB
First, we’re going to format usb thumb drive, later copy the Snow Leopard DVD image to the thumb drive.

Watch the video in HD and fullscreen to get clearer look at the process.
After you restore the Snow Leopard install DVD to your thumb drive, all you’ve got to do is Run the EP45UD3P Snow Leopard.pkg file (download link above), select your thumb drive, and, let the installer will take care of all the work.
Step 2. Configuring BIOS:

You’ve got to make some small adjustments to your BIOS.

• Boot Priority: Enable USB Boot, and set USB thumb drive the highest priority for Boot.
• AHCI Mode: SATA RAID/AHCI Mode should be set to AHCI
• ACPI Power mode: Set it to S3(STR).

Step 3: Installation

Now comes the easy part.

Restart PC, Make sure your prepared thumb drive is plugged into your PC. :

As shown in the Video: Boot into the Snow Leopard installer, format the hard drive you want to install Snow Leopard to (go to Utilities -> Disk Utility, then click on the drive, select 1 Partition, Mac OS X Journaled, give it a name, and make sure GUID Partition Table is set in the Options. After you Apply the new partition, go back to the installer and install like normal to that drive. When you reboot after the install completes, press the arrow keys at the graphical boot menu and select the drive you just installed Snow Leopard to.

Step 4. Minor Tweaks (optional but good to have)
You should have everything working by now. But here are few additional, optional steps to enhance your Experience:
1. Get Sound Fully working:
Sound isn’t entirely working yet. You may notice that sound actually does work in some instances, but not all. All you should actually need to do is open up the Sound preference pane in System Preferences (/Applications/System Preferences), click the Output tab, and change the output device to Built-in Line output (I haven’t tested with digital out, but it should work fine in theory).

2. Boot into Snow Leopard without USB Thumb Drive
Right now, your Hackintosh needs USB to boot. To boot from internal harddisk, install the custom bootloader to your hard drive. Unzip EP45UD3P Snow Leopard.pkg zip file that you downloaded initially, run it and select the hard drive you’ve installed Snow Leopard to. Once the installer completes, you’ll no longer need your thumb drive plugged in to boot into Snow Leopard.

Bingo! You installed Snow Leopard on PC by the Easiest Way!

kuna sababu nyingi, lakini kwa mtizamo wangu baadhi ni hizi:-

ubuntu kama operating system ni bure, open source software. hulipii senti moja.

fast, reliable and almost virus free ukilinganisha na windows ya microsoft.

inakuwezesha ku-install free software nyingi za open source bila kuhofia gharama au kutumia pirated software ambazo zinaweza kukufikisha pabaya - katika nchi zenye kufuata sheria.

kwetu sisi watukutu wa kompyuta it's just a great experience to switch platforms kulingana na task unayotaka ku-perform. trying out new technologies isn't a bad thing.
