It's Official Paul Kagame Killed President Juvenal Habyarimana

Yes in deed, but that does not change facts. The fact that Genocide was ignited by the downing of the presidential jet, will be the there to stay. The one who did it has blood in his hand, no one is questioning the killing or cause of the killing, but people were questioning whether it was RPF who did it.

Chief, the downing of Habyarimana's aircraft was a carefully in-house (Hutu Power) crafted move to precipitate an already brewing genocide against the Tutsi. Don't be fazed by these ridiculous suggestions that all was well pre-1994. Hutu Power were not happy with the Arusha accord and killed Habyarimana because they knew the end was near for the hateful grip on power. The plane was downed by French supplied mistral missiles from a FAR base near the airport. The RPA had nothing to do with it, if anything it would be counter-productive to the push to liberate the country.

Hutus had a little to worry about Arusha accord since the accord, among othe things, emphasized on democracy and rule of law which is being dishonoured by the current kagae regime. With multiparty democracy those parties which were supported by hutu majority would definetely win elections. RPF was very unpular among majority hutus hence the only option for kagame and RPF top leadership was to ignore this accord and install an authoritarian regime thru murder/asassintions and intimidation. Therefore RPF, not hutus, were the ones who were not happy because that accord would not have allowed RPF to get to power as it is now.

Chief, it was not the ordinary Hutu who had reservations over the possible power-sharing with the RPF, oh no. Rather it was the extremist Hutus who did not want to see that happen. Let's not behave as if all hutu were on the same page. There were many hutu who were displeased by Habyarimana. The issue in Rwanda is and has always been more complex than the supposed hutu vs tutsi divide. Not every hutu is anti-Kagame and not every Tutsi is pro-RPF. There is more to it. As for the elections, well Kagame won overwhelmingly even with Twagiramungu (a Hutu) as a challenger. Rwandese people have begun to see past the ethnic lines and have decided to choose a leader with unifying visions and actions. It is the will of the people, who are we to state otherwise my friend?
